Back in the cockpit of another M3 coupe
I sold my SSII coupe last year so I could keep my promise to the wife of the Big 3 of marriage: Baby, House, SUV...…..DONE !
Now back in the seat of an original one-owner, 2009 space grey coupe, with all black/carbon interior, carbon roof, 6 MT, and Eisenmann race exhaust. ALL the features I wanted ! It has 86,000 miles. Cosmetically needs compounding and polishing, and some badge replacements. After its first wash the body and paint are just incredibly good. No dents or scratches to really speak of and hardly any road rash. The interior looks brand new. The fluids were all recently changed, so I'm going to start with engine and trans mounts, spark plugs, and sometime soon, the rod bearings. The best part of this pick-up was the small-plane flight down to south Texas to pick her up, then drove back 200 miles to Houston. Hope you like her! Love that Space Grey! I’ve got SS II lurking under an orange wrap at the moment, bought it that way. Maybe I’d take the wrap off sooner if it were your color.
Enjoy! |

Great looking car, and a great way to go down to pick it up. Many, many years ago, I was a flight student in St. Louis racking up hours in a Cessna 150s and 172s. My instructor and I flew my dual cross country trip from STL to St. Joseph, MO, where I looked at a 1971 Porsche 911E that I was interested in. The owner met me at the airfield, and my instructor (a former top fuel drag racer) and I checked the car out. Decided to pass on it--it was a non-stock repaint and the price of $8100 was too high--and flew home. Definitely a fun way to spend the day.
Later that week the guy called up and offered it for $7500, but I had already bought another car--a 1976 targa for $13,000. Wish I had both of those cars today. |
