Gloves and alcantara wheel

Heading to the track soon and I want to get a pair of gloves before i do. I have an alcantara wheel and I feel that its just absorbing sweat when I'm on the track. Anyone have any recommendations on which glove I should buy?

I have a pair of these and love them. Regular leather wheel here though.

Some nice guy here recommended the Sparco Tide H9 glove for Alcantara wheels

I bought them but my car's still in storage for winter so I haven't tested them out yet

Go to a local race supply shop and just try a bunch on. Buy what is the most comfortable.

I settled on Alpinestars Tech 1ZX because it was the most comfortable, not because it looked the best or cost the most. It's all about comfort, and that's 100% subjective!

All good suggestions. I just want to make sure I don't buy something with an aggressive surface that could agitate the alcantara wheel. We all know they don't last long as is haha.

Personally I don't even like the idea of an alcantara wheel at the track. I also have Alpinestars and love them. However, it's often required to allow the wheel to slop through your hands and I could imagine that would be difficult with an alcantara wheel.

No glove will really change that. The weight of your hands will crush the nap of suede. At least the gloves will lessen the oils and sweat from reaching it.

Sounds like you need some silk gloves brotha. I just have some cheap Racequip gloves from Amazon. They don't protect from fire but are perfectly fine for this HPDE newbie in keeping sweat off my steering wheel.

This is what I use and I also have alcantara wheel

These are golf gloves. Now I don't play golf, but my friend recommended them to me. They grip very well, hands don't sweat as much, and the best part you don't have to pay $150

I have been using these w/ my alcantara wheel for about five years and am pleased with the feel, grip and how they protect the wheel...

Great thanks guys. Ive been to the track with this wheel and i like the material a lot actually. And to clarify I'm not looking for something that will prevent the wheel from deteriorating just wanna make sure i don't buy something that will cause more damage.

I use Sparco Tide RG9 with the dimples on my two track cars - one with leather the other with alcantara.

No better gloves than these.
