What are your thoughts: Stop-tech vs alcon BBK?

Hey guys with my e92 M pending a SC install i'm think about upgrading the brakes.

I was set on the stoptech trophy BBK then I read a few posts about the rusting screws and ect...

I'm now thinking I might go with a Alcon superkit.

Any thoughts on either set-up?

Thanks
Alex

Both are great options. I think the finish issue on the stoptechs is overblown.

+1 both are great, you cant go wrong with any. look into the RB kit they seems to do the job and cheaper than both.

Agreed, don't make a decision based on that thread.
I had trophies on my car for 6 months and when I took them off they were in perfect shape. And I took them through car washes, and sprayed wheel cleaner on them...

I know this is a bad reason, but I love the dimpled rotors of the Alcon BBK

Like others said - StopTech's are fine. Don't make a decision based on that post.

Had both and liked my stop tech kit more, even though it was significantly less expensive and as were the replacement rotors when I needed them. More pad selections as well. This was a few years ago, maybe things have changed.

Stop-Tech is your best bang for your buck. Lots of pad choices, usually in stock and awesome performance.

Alcon is fantastic (had them on my M3), but minimal pad options, and replacement parts take a while to receive.

I like them so far. I have not had much opportunity to test them as they were just installed. I think I bought them from you in December... didn't get them on the car until this week!

I can't compare 'em to Alcons, but FWIW my StopTech Trophies have been great... both on street and track... no issues so far.

Been using the Alcons for about 3 years now and have loved them. They see a bunch of abuse and haven't had a hiccup yet.

They will be used mostly on the street, I might make it to one track even this year so pad selection is not that important to me.
