Drill holes on Arkym frnt lip: need advice

I have just ordered an Arkym CF front lip, which is beautifully crafted and the fitment should be superb according to many opinions on the forum.

Yet the only issue that i run into is that i need to drill holes on the lip before i install bolt it onto the bumper and tape it. And I've heard that using inappropriate drill will crack the lip...so i wonder if i can get some advice on using the right tool and perhaps the proper way to install it.

Thanks for your input

Any power drill with the proper size bit will work fine. There should already be indents on the lip that tell you where to drill the holes.

Lip should have came pre drilled unless you got one of the original versions.

Anyways... USE an Electric Drill with minimum 12 volts. Do NOT use a battery powered drill unless it is 12 volts.

The technique is to use a small bit at high speed at first, then move up gradually through the bit size so the larger bit does not "Grab" the lip and crack it.

Make sure the bit is moving fast as you drill. Don't lift off the trigger while inside the hole... it will grab the hole are rip up the lip.

Use tape to keep the hole and the bit in better control.

Good luck.

If you just ordered it you have nothing to worry about, they come pre drilled.

Drill a pilot hole then use a step bit. That's what I do when I drill through thin mirror plexi...never had a crack. Yet.

thanks for all your inputs =)

I successfully put holes on the lip few hours ago. The Arkym lip I have does not come pre-drilled but it does not crack under the force of my electrical drill. Now the lip is ready for install! Can't wait to get the car back from bodyshop
