Is the M Performance Exhaust installed during production? My dealer said it was an accessory added at the dealer only...

The exhaust will be installed at the port in the Vehicle Distribution
Center (VDC, formely VPC) at the port (NJ).
So it will arrive at the dealership ready to go.

Does it really take six months for delivery? I thought it was more like 60-90 days?

I had my exhaust installed before I picked it up. I also took the original with me in the event I decide to sell the car I can put it back on. Hope you get your original one as well. Congrats on the new car. A lot of us here went through the same pain you are going through playing the waiting game.

Can depend on dealer allocations and when the OP wants to take delivery... Shouldn't take that long but it is possible.

That's a great point. Did you get your exhaust installed at the dealership as opossed to VDC? I will check with my CA on that. It would be great to be able to keep the original.

You can reserve a date as early as you want. I think that are peolple who reserve one year ahead! I just wanted to make sure I could secure a car before plant shuts down and did not have much flexibility with the delivery date. The next step now is the PO and BMWFS to be done in April.

My car was delivered straight to the dealer where they installed before I ever did the contract. Think of it this way if you do not get it back you are throwing money away. Good luck.
