In the E90s the LED lightbars are powered by a bulb (7528 to be exact). Which doesn't give off the same brightness as the E92 or light spread. I'll either make my own set of LEDs that will achieve this or look for an aftermarket bulb/resistor pack.

Thanks for the explanation. I've been looking for a LED solution, but havent seen anything worthwhile. The blacklines are nice and all, but the non-LED look bothers me a bit(expecially considering how nice the 2nd gen e46's looked with LEDs)

Please post pics when finished, Im sure alot of folks would be interested.

I'm doing some homework on what would be easiest and best to use (in that order). I'm going to first do a retrofit of the adaptive brake light bulb and see how bright that will be, if it's not up to my standards (I have my E39 as a measuring tool) then I will look into the LEDs. As long as the light is bright AND even like the E39 I'll be happy. The current look of the E90 has like a bright spot in the middle of the lightbars which looks cheap and clumsy. Although, I think the bulb would be good it will most likely not match the light spread of an LED. Enough rambling, I'll keep you guys posted as I have the blacklines in my possession already.

I'm not completely sold on them. I like the tail light lines though.

Does anybody know the part number for these for the coupe? I see that it lists them as fitting the sedan but nothing about the coupe. Any difference in fitting?
