Left rear turn indicator failure
Sheesh..talk about bad luck. Ever heard of an LED failure? Fortunately covered under warranty but I'd hate to imagine the cost as it involves replacing the whole tail light cover assembly!

Yeah...at a high cost to replace, I'll bet. About 3 of the little LEDs in the indicator array have stopped working so as a result the whole tailight assembly needs to be replaced. So instead of a $5.00 globe replacement we're probably looking at a $300-$400 part. Just as well it's a warranty job!
A few months back my wife sideswiped a pole when reversing and took out the driver side wing mirror on the X5. Just the mirror glass itself needed to be replaced. As it's not rocket science I just bought the mirror glass.....$310!!! |

Result: Whole new everything.. $1400 for memory. They put it through their insurance. I was just happy it didn't fold into any of the X5 panels/door - that would have been very costly. |

Perhaps we should go after BMW collectively as a client
