e90 M3 Carbon Fiber Roof Wrap

What do you guys think? Had the side trim and shark fin wrapped in gloss black and the roof in Carbon fiber vinyl.

Actually I'm not sure if it was 3M or what type of Vinyl they used. It was done professionally at this place in the Bay Area. These guys are good. They were doing some full wraps when I was there and they looked outstanding (I'm usually not a fan of wraps).

Just curious...

Did you intensionally wanted to let the glass roof shine through the carbone wrap?

You could've also make it "invosible " it by using an black shiny vinyl.
No pun intended man just saying.

Looks nicely executed however I am not a fan of the matte. If there was a glossy alternative or gloss black I think it would look much more slick and clean.

+1, the matte just looks out of place. Nonetheless, if you're happy with it then that's all that matters

I agree. This hangup is why I haven't installed it on my E90 yet. All the shops I spoke to generally only talked about matte CF. I got busy with other stuff and haven't really pushed the issue since.

Yeah I didn't want to touch the glass. I was debating between a full gloss black wrap and the carbon fiber with the trim and fin wrapped in gloss... I also considered just getting the entire roof painted gloss black. I got a quote for $650 to have the entire roof painted.

I was told that there are some gloss carbon fiber wraps on the market but they are mainly for the interior and they will break down fast if put on the exterior. I actually like the contrast between the gloss trim and the matte carbon fiber. Also, you can't tell from the pics but there is a shine to it in the sunlight. People like matte wheels, grills, etc.. so I think having matte carbon fiber on the roof looks good as a nice contrast with the gloss black trim and fin.

Keep in mind the good thing about the wrap is that it's fairly inexpensive and you can change it out easily if you get bored with it!

Gloss black would have looked better imo.
