same can be said about our beloved 335i's....
"The 335i is equivalent to the M3 but without the mighty performance.... oh yeah, and the LSD"

you sure about that? a V8 that performs no better than the 335i? .... thats quite an accomplishment by Audi.. I do agree with you on one part though, the S5, almost any audi for that matter, has a better interior setup than the oldschool amber lights we have in our bimmers... Audi's marketing is not towards car "enthusiast" but more towards sophisticated people who like to "cruise"...

The only thing common about the S5 and the M3 is the V8... I don't know how you can compare you precious car to a runt..... Now if you were talking about the RS5, than that is a different story.. V8 + TT + Quattro = GG

NO Way Audi take over nothin!

as said before : these brands are built upon different styles, for different people ... i would never buy an Audi w/o a full maintanance pkg for like 5 years,--- those cars are insane HIgh maintance (i've worked on my friends S4 ... i was laughing half the time about how this car is put together )

-just my 2 centS

All the 3 series cars you see will be replaced by A4/A5's, Audi will over take BMW in every market. Even the 7 series and M division."

Is anyone considering an Audi as their next car? I will admit Audi has impressed me recently.

Opinions? Thoughts?
If any dealer told me that about any brand I would run. This is exactly the type of dealer you want to avoid.

I guess that's why I liked my dealer. My CA didn't even compare brands. The "worst" thing he said was that Lexus (my mom has one) builds a car for people w/ different needs.

Anyway... Audi needs an entry-level RWD car w/ more power. I would definitely take one over the the C350 and BMW 335i; not so sure about the G35S.

Yeah different strokes for different folks. As for performance perspective , audi's A4(non-S)cannot compete with the Bmw 3 series(non-M), not even with their prices.

If you get an Audi, make sure you drive around with your rear fogs on all the time. It's required.

If audi made strictly RWD and AWD cars id HIGHLY consider one. BMW is getting too watered down.

As long as they insist on making front-engine/AWD cars, they will have a hard time competing with well-sorted mid/front-engine/RWD BMWs.

Audi's are getting better... I'm friends with an Audi mechanic and a few years ago I'd bring my old car to him and he'd always be busy fixing shit, but lately he hasn't been as busy. Given, the only good Audi's are the ones with an 'S' or 'RS' in their title, their other cars are coming along slowly. Unfortunately Audi's underperform and are overpriced, so they have a long way to go.

It's BMW vs Mercedes, thats it... just like Coke vs Pepsi, Blonds vs Brunettes, Lost vs Heroes, etc... BMW is more driver oriented, and Merc is more for luxury, and Audi is just trying to do both.

Judging by the Audis I see on the roads around here, it must be turned on at the factory, and now without the switch, you can't turn it back off.

All kidding aside, I'm glad Audi removed the switch. Ridiculous how many Audis I see driving around with their rear blinding lights on.

I've never really payed attention to the rear fog lights on Audi's. Interesting.

The log lights are part of the round light switch on the dash, once the lights are turned on you pull the level out to turn on the log lights, front and rear. It has to be owners total stupidity to not understand how they work.

This system has been on the go for ages, all VAG cars seem to use it.

Audi is awsome, almost went for one instead of the 335, but audi's handling and power just didn't compare to the 335. I did drive an S5 and I have to say that the sound of the V8 and the looks as well as the interior were top notch. Engine had nice pull, but once again, my butt dyno still told me my 335 had better torque (although from what I understand the S5 and 335 are very comparable in dyno numbers). I do have to say that I like the interior of the audi much more, and those LED day time headlights are sweet as well.

Overall, I think audi is a great brand, but as mentioned before, a different philosophy behind their engineering. I can say one thing for sure though....the R8 has captured my heart. That is one sweeeeet car.
