Ice & Snow on Windshield?

Are there any products that can be used on the windshield to prevent snow & ice from sticking or makes it easy to scrape in the mornings? Thanks

This is a serious question I'm asking for a friend that just moved to Colorado that doesn't have a garage.

There is nothing you can do to prevent it. To make it easier to scrape off, start the car and run it for a couple of minutes with defrosters on high and temperature up to hot.

Wow. Firstly don't EVER scrape anything off of a car, windshield, paint, anything. You didn't tell us what car he has but let's assume it's an M, he can't get a remote starter installed unless it's a shop that specializes in aftermarket so the best thing to do is just go outside 10/15 mins before leaving and blast the heat to the windshield and hit the button for the back windshield. By the time he comes out, flick of the wipers and it'll all be gone while the car is hot too. If it's not an BMW then get a remote start!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Questions on here amaze me sometimes, people rely so much on media and the internet these days to get answers to the simplest and stupid questions. Heck I'm only 20 and know how to work things out on my own quicker than so many people on here.

Tell your friend to invest in an automatic car starter. They even have ones that can hook up to your phone. Think it's a Viper product.

Turn on the car about 5 minutes before you leave. Definitely helps and will help to break the snow/ice away from windows before you take a scraper to it, and your car will be warm in the mornings.

Letting your car sit and idle isn't a great idea. Easiest thing is to get a de-icer, I use Einszett Eistau spray, works great.
