I shipped my new m3 from Ft. Lauderdale using united road. Bought the car sight unseen :/ They setup a driver for me the very next day which was a Friday. Delivers on Saturday night to me around South Jersey/Delaware border. I was extremely excited. It was nerve wrecking during that time especially deciding between open or closed.
Eventually I figured the car was going to be exposed to elements while I am driving it, does it really matter if the trailer is closed or not? I was just happen the car got to me extremely quick. Yes it was dirty due to the rain but nothing a quick touchless carwash couldn't handle. Besides, I am looking forward to doing a full detail myself anyways. Most of the forum members aren't even into detailing so why bother with closed trailers? I opted for open container

I did not really get a choice on shipping from overseas, but this is what cheap can get you. Thank goodness it was my winter car.

I went through uship.com shipping my car from L.A to South Carolina sight unseen.
Kind of dodged the bullet. I looked for whoever had the highest rating at a good price. Again, I'd pay a bit more for what guys here are recommending though.

Reliable Carriers
Very happy with them. Cheapest high quality carrier I could find. ~$1690 covered from Colorado to Connecticut. Quick too. Don't trust the ones that subcontract out to random trucks.

+1 to what many others have said. It's a huge mistake to make 'cheap' your primary factor.
I used intercity lines years ago and they did a fantastic job. A couple years after that I used a "cheaper" company and they stole electronics from the car.

I guess you are getting the point by now. Lol. I used a broker for auto shipments twice. Once was an incredible experience, driver was early for pick up and early for drop off. Second time, my Jeep was stored in a parking lot somewhere in Boston, for 6 weeks. Broker was rude and had no idea my Jeep was never picked up in Boston. I had to call and threaten to report my vehicle stolen. They finally found someone to pick up my Jeep. Nerve racking not knowing where your prized possession in missing. Find someone with good references.
