Leather seat repair
Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone has attempted to have scratches in their seat leather repaired and if it was successful/expensive. Long story short, girlfriend spiralled off into my side bolster as she was getting in, the studs on her rear pocket mincing the bolster.. Scratched but not torn. She now eats out of a straw, and I'm debating whether to let it be or whether its a relatively pain-free process to fix. Cheers

See if your local dealer/posters in your area can give you the name of a good leather shop. When we were in the market for a 2008 Highlander Hybrid for my wife, she insisted on NOT getting the "Limited Edition" because ALL she wanted from the LE was the leather seats.
The Toyota dealer in Walnut Creek was able to set her up with a local leather place that tore out the cloth and swapped it for leather for about $3k (ENTIRE interior of a midsize SUV). It is nicer leather than was in either the Highlander LE or her old 325i and the stitching was better. It literally CAN'T be impossible to find a place that can do a good job on replacing a panel on the leather seats without charging and arm and a leg. |

Jeff/Foodle: Do you always take the internets so srsly? For the record no I didn't subject her to any violence and yes I love her very much. Lighten up and if necessary remove knot from panties

FYI, the OEM leather can be purchased for the upright or seat bottom parts. My car was vandalized, and I was expecting a new seat, but they just replaced the leather. Looked new again, and much cheaper than replacing the seat.

Tell me about it! I couldn't get upset over it though, she looked more distressed than me!

First mistake is letting someone in the car w/ studs on their ass, but yes a GOOD repair will look like new. You need to ask your local bodyshops who they use for this sort of thing as ther person usually gets called out to do multiple cars a day,.. I have seen unreal results on vinyl dashes, leather seats, etc. It can be done, just depends on who you ask.

The rule is, if she wants to wear some crazy spiky or bedazzled shit and damages the leather, it's time for angry butt sex. She takes more care with the seats now than I do!
