Er, not sure where you heard that, they are 5kg per seat lighter. We weighed them as part of the instal.

US vehicles have different set of standards for OC3 monitoring, whereas the seats won't code properly in our vehicles without the OC3 module or simply dealing with the error messages.

I agree with the cost of proper programming tools, they're not cheap.
Cant say we have any direct experience on US models so happy to defer to your greater experience. Deprogramming is a generic term to describe what we're doing, the coding is there to 'disable' some of the functions so its the easiest way of describing it thats all.

Yes, much lower, about 5cm we measured. The frames have a high and low seat set up so bear that in mind when you fit them.

My mistake, BMW documentation rates them at 3kg lighter.

Ah, different terminology on the other side of the pond. Thanks for posting your results.

Completely agree - biggest weakness. The BMW performance seats should have standard in the E90/92 M3. The seating position should be a lot lower too.

The mystery to me is how BMWAG released a set of Performance seats that require magic tricks to install in BMW's and not having ECU faults.

It seems that the correct, proper and OEM retrofit path in ISTA/P does not exist on either side of the Atlantic still today.

I was the first one who had these seats in an M3 E92 and got them directly from M GmbH. I had all the warning lights for about 3 month before the problem was solved. Now I enjoy the heated seats with airbags, which are actually 3.5kg lighter than stock and seat position is about 5cm lower also than stock. I do highly recomend them!

Did the dealer fix all the lights/problems? Could you raise the seat if you wanted to?

Your car is just SICK!!!

Yes - the dealer did! I guess the support is much better here than in the US.
To raise the seat, you have to put is out of the car, so more or less it´s a one time adjustment!

Anything's possible - here's a set of Pole Positions we did for Mfest:

Heating can be added as well if desired, but keep in mind these are still race shells.

+1 on that !

Mind you the brakes are AWESOME if you don't ever track your car but if you do and are aggressive on the braking you will notice fade after 2 laps (depending on the track). That's why I just picked up the Brembo GT kit to be installed after the winter...

We will get an airbag and seatbelt warning light on dash and in the iDrive

In my car I ran the OCS3 module with my Pole Positions, but the problem is the passengers airbag is turned off completely which I find dangerous
Installed mine today and got just that. They will het codes from Germany to reprogramme the seats to avoid and clear the occ sensor, head restraints and airbag issue.

If we can do this, I'm sure you can do it states side if you have a cooperative BMW dealer. It's just electronics and can be programmed to suit.

Keep us posted on how it goes. If you have any more details to share that would also rock. Post pics!
