In my experience I usually see it in response to trolls. Not too many folks just go out and start arbitrarily flaming people. At least not that I notice. Maybe your experience is different, dunno. If you think about it, trolling is a pretty cowardly thing to do - and almost never makes a discussion more informative or more productive.

So, if I registered a new account, went into a thread on here and said "M3s are for guys with small dicks", It'd probably get plenty of flames. Agree? Basically, you can either just let the post go unchecked or push back a little (or a lot if that's your thing) and maybe make the troll think twice next time - especially if he's someone who actually values the topics being discussed, but just doesn't know how to deal with his insecurities maturely. My guess is you might have a negative reaction yourself to such a post, and maybe you'd even respond. But if you didn't then plenty of others would.

Not that this has any relevance to anything or anybody here, whatsoever. And, not that your question was necessarily non-rhetorical to begin with. Course, the thread was basically completely OT now anyway.

In Europe we have the luck of the Msport kit. An e93 335 with Procede will nearly match an e93 m3 on everyday driving, due to lower weight, much higher torque and only a 40hp difference. Therefore I decided not to wait and got one! Also the look is quite M-like, a little bit less aggressive, but more stylish. I attach some shots that may help you to decide

Nice car, stefano. Those 225s are sweet.

But I don't think we can saying anything about the weight issue yet. Its still possible the E93 M3 will weight less than the E93 335i. But even if the 335i is less - its still no lightweight.

You are right.... I just assumed that the convertible will take along the same weight increase of the e92 M3 over an e92 335ì.

Does the E92 M3 coupe weigh more than a E92 335i coupe? I honestly thought it came in slightly less. ?

It has been quite confusing because there are different "weighting standards". The M3 will definetly weight more than the 335, but I am not sure of how much (more or less 100 kgs) . In any case the M3 official weight in Italy is 1655 kgs

I must say I did not expect BMW to do an M-sport version of the 335i coupe/cabrio - it is certainly a tempting option, especially considering the waiting list for the M3, and presumably the price difference too.

While the weight issue makes for an interesting discussion, I have decided not to get that hung up about it since:

a) I do a lot of everyday driving, not drag-strip posturing

b) I will appreciate the chance to have the roof down

c) In all practical senses the weight difference will be less than having a couple of fat passengers - is anyone here going to eject passengers from their coupés for slowing them down (funny though it might be!)

d) I only weigh 100 lbs anyway, so I might still get a head start on some of you fatties (while getting a nice, even tan)

Re. the 335i, I am starting to think I have my heart set on DSG - which means some lucky fellow is going to get an early delivery this autumn, while I wait until May '08... oh well...

Cabrio is the only way for an M3 unless you want to race it on a track......
Howerver, the hardtop will not be as impressive as my current E46 M3 CiC.

p.s. I don't race on the streets.... Minivans can leave me behind anytime.

Ok - but why don't you think the hardtop will be as impressive as your E46 vert? If you check out a E93 335i at the dealership I'm sure you'd be plenty impressed. I was.
