2011.5 Owners: iPod cable question

Hi all,

I fly out tomorrow to Munich to pick up my E93. Build date: last week

It looks like all I need for the new iPod (6FL) interface is a standard white iPod cable (the old 6FL had that pigtail adapter). Can anyone with the new September build or later confirm this is the case?

Thanks!

You just need a regular white iPod cable.

Just the standard Apple cord which will fit into the USB slot in your armrest. The tracks etc will upload instantly.

From BMW itself:

Quote:
iPod One-wire integration: No longer will an iPod connection require the "Y-cable". The original iPod USB cable is all that is required to connect the device to the vehicle. This simplifies the connection by not requiring the aux-input. The music is transferred directly from the iPod digitally to the HiFi system via USB. Therefore as of September, the Y-Cable will no longer be included with iPod/USB Adapter (6FL).

Amen, brother. I really hope there's an upgrade path for older cars for this.
