WTB: Snow tires/wheels?
Anyone in the greater Denver area have winter tires w/ or w/o wheels that you want to get rid of? There's another couple of months of blizzards up here

I have a set of BMW genuine 270M M wheels, 18" with 245/40/18 Dunlop Winter Sport tires. Square setup, awesome grip in the snow and dry. Wheels are flawless, 2009+ TPMS included. Tires are about 80% thread left. I still have them mounted on my E90 M3 but since I now use a 4Runner for the winter, I am willing to put them up for sale. These are the BMW recommended winter wheels for the M3 as seen here:

I'm planning to retire my E90 M3 from winter duty and will be selling these. With the weather down here lately, I'd feel comfortable taking them off now if you're interested. Thinking $1200.
Tires: Blizzak LM-60's are brand new this season and probably have 3000 miles on them. Fronts are 235/45R18. Rears are 255/45R18. Wheels: Tire Rack winter wheel, 18" A7 (link), that I plasti-dipped last summer because the Mag Chloride wasn't kind to the wheel barrels over the seasons. It's held up really well and just need to be touched up around the lug nut holes.

Mad dip! That makes these ugly things (which I have, too) look pretty nice!

I have a set of 18" wheels off a 545 that fit the M3 as well, but look better with some 12-15mm rear spacers. They have Michelin pilot alpins on them that should easily make it through the remainder of the season. I'll let them go cheap, PM me if you're interested.

Yeah, those wheels, as-sold, didn't do the car any favors - even when you consider it's in its "winter livery". We spent pretty much an entire day after the tires were mounted - cleaning, 3 coats of the color (anthracite?) and then 2 coats of the glossifier. I've been *really* impressed with how they've held up this winter. Some people have reported problems with PlastiDip on wheels and I suspect it's more a matter of the application process. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

OP I am not in Denver but have a square setup of 255/35/19 Pirelli scottozero that I can give you a great deal on. Tires have less than 5k miles. Will sell for 500 not including shipping.

Nice to meet you dnvrdrvr and thanks for the wheels/tires! They look great and work awesome. They make a huge difference even on the gravelly dry roads that we have right now.
No rubbing at all on mine, but it is close! Not being lowered helps. And it looks like my rear summer tires (no folks I was not driving the car during the winter!) are nearly shot at only 5k miles. I don't drive that crazy. I think when I replace the summers I'll get all seasons instead. It's usually in the 40s at night up here, and it can really snow any day of the year, so that might work better for me in general. |
