Really? The 220's are forged but they only weigh 1-2 lbs less than the ZCP which are 1/2" wider which allows the proper fitment of wider tires. Plus the ZCP's are made by BBS and their reputation for high quality can not be denied. How do you figure that going from a high quality wheel made by BBS down to a rep made by ?? in ?? is not a "real downgrade"?

I'm not saying its not a downgrade, but for half the price, is the AGs half as good?
I haven't seen any complaints or facts about quality and strength that would show it being that inferior. In fact, it seems people who have it are really happy with it.

I'm curious to see the AG 359s in their new
18 in rim... 18x9.5 square would be kinda cool/ different if weights aren't outrageous |

How about....? I don't like the color of my M3 so I'm going to trade it for a 328i in the color I want.

I can't say I haven't also considered doing this to get the ZCP blacks though, so I do understand the predicament as you can save 1k. Or even buy some avant gardes with tires for <1000 which is huge. If I did it I would probably use the avant gardes as DD then get track wheels too which isn't a bad idea anyway. I'd do a straight up trade if I could. Or even trade + some dollars. Selling then buying new wheels is a hassle. Buying first could leave you with a set of wheels that won't sell. The other option is powder coating the stock silver wheels but I wouldn't know what color to tell them. Anyone has done this yet? |

Guys, I'm in a similar situation as OP, but this is my case: I just got the M3 this summer so I would like (mild) winter tires/wheels to swap out. That's why I have ZCP wheels with summer rubber and want to get the Avant Garde M359's for winter. To clarify, they give you a choice of offsets in each wheel diameter (i.e. 19x9" fronts in ET18 or ET35 and 19x10" rears in ET25 or ET38).
Also, the stock sizes for ZCP are 19x9 ET31 Front & 19x10 ET 25 Rear according to turnermotorsports. So, the OP has a point that the AG rims are over $1K cheaper than OEM GTS and are low pressure cast, high quality wheels. I need a second set and want black for a change, so it makes sense. Maybe I don't understand, but don't you add the spacer mm's to the ET mm's to get the total offset? (13 spacer + 31ET = 44mm?) Why subtract the number if it's measuring wheel center to hub and a spacer pushes the wheel farther from the hub? |

Just FYI I noticed a few references that the E9x ZCPs are made by BBS. They're not. Take a look at the inside of the spokes. The E46 ZCP/CSL were stamped BBS the E9x aren't...

Guys, I currently have both.
the AG 359's are BETTER IMHO compared to the stock ZCPs as 1) they look exactly the same from the outside, 2) the build quality was replicated, 3) they are way less expensive and 4) they do not require a spacer. They are flush given their aggressive offset. Spacers SUCK. Unless you torque the lugs perfectly you get steering vibration.
