Arrow Feeler: New M3 Exhaust

how many of you guys would be seriously interested in a exhaust by rogue engineering considering that the sound is great and matches characteristics of our high revving engine, quality and materials, & lastly but most important price point .

i have been speaking with Ben at RE, and he said due to the overwhelming number of exhausts, they feel they missed their opportunity when trying to make the "perfect" exhaust.

for me the RE has the perfect sound that matches the characteristics of our car. imo, all the exhausts out there have a deep mean growl to it which to me, is best suited for a high displacement engine like a c63. all the exhausts on the market right now are just loud to me with no real depth. the only 2 exhausts i believe sound great to our high rev engine is remus race (but sounds too "bubbly" with no depth to it), and meisterchaft gt2 (perfection to my ears, but i am hesitant from buying their exhaust due to company history).

i assured ben if the 3 objectives are met above, the exhaust should be a big hit. so i am making this post to gauge interest in this exhaust. lets have enough support and make this happen .

+1, I think it's too late for any more exhausts now. If I was Rogue Engineering, I'd save up my time and money and look towards the future: The F10 M3 isn't that far off.

active sounding f1 is a mediocre at best, the thing is not even louder than eisenmann race and is very mellow. Innotech is like $5k+ for their valvetronic setup, and eisenmann is just most popular.

i understand sound is subjective, but given a great sounding exhaust and price point you guys still wouldn't be interested?

i don't even have my car yet and i already have and am shopping for parts 3-4 months away .

for exhaust i got a set of oem cats followed by fabspeed xpipe and am just waiting for a muffler that catches my ear.

as i stated earlier, sound is subjective. any exhaust paired with an xpipe will sure to get comments on the road.

when i was at bimmerfest comparing just the aa muffler with eisenmann race the aa was not even close when it came to loudness.

re exhausts may be mellow and moderate but based on the vids above the sound is intoxicating, pair with an xpipe and .

depending on it's price point, sound, design and construction I think the market could handle another exhaust option. If you make a good product that's priced right, there's always a market for it...

I would bet my first born son that this exhaust would $2K+ and the market is flooded at that price point. If they could do this at -$1k for axel back they would clean up.

red: it seems you had alot of exhaust setups. have you ever had ss race? you are correct in that i want a loud exhaust, but i want a loud exhaust with a refined high pitch sound which i can't find. gintani has a very loud deep growl to it and that is not what im looking for.

the only exhaust systems that match my needs are kreis sieg which for the price f that, and gt2 but from company history and ethics i refuse to buy.

shift - I've yet to be impressed by an AA / X pipe combo and I'm local so I'm all ears.

The few exhausts with unique tones that I've encountered are:

Eis Race

Gintani

GT2

I am actually surprised at how many people slap a loud deep growl exhaust which is every exhaust out there unless you remove the cats and resonators and pretty much straight pipe it! To me that is one of the unique things about the M3 and the m5, were there high pitched screamer exhausts.

I would buy it in a heart beat if you could also somehow keep drone in low rpms to a minimum.d

I wish tuners would understand drone a bit more. Drone is impossible to avoid but what you can tune for is what rpm range the drone happens at. The low end drone is irritating as it is most often at cruising highway speeds or slow speeds around town. If you can tune it into a higher rpm bracket than drone is lost in the sound of the exhaust and intake and only comes out when accelerating instead of cruising. That is teh biggest deal breaker for me.

If you could provide a high pitched sound I would be in forsure!
Is this even possible on the S65 V8? I mean, if it is and that's what Rogue pulled off, sure, even I'd consider it, since it's a product that's substantially different from the rest of the generally cookie-cutter products on the market.

Hell, if it sounded like an M5 with an Eisenmann, even I'd probably jump on it, even if I already have Akrapovic. I know I know, now everyone is going to jump in with forum science and tell me how it's not mechanically possible. I'm just saying if they could, then I would.

If it ever sounds exactly like this though, let me know. Until then, I think I'll sit tight with my Akrapovic Evolution.

I'm going to agree with the others. Both the m3 and 335i market are very saturated. Look at any other car, for example, a cayman, and theres only a handful of choices compared to the dozens of whats out for BMW's. I agree with you for wanting a high pitched sound. Active, Remus, Innotech, Meisterschaft, and Eisenmann seem like what you like. I do not think it would be a smart business move on the part of rogue to come out with another exhaust. The supply is saturated with some already great choices. Here's an old video of my friends old setup. Loud and high pitched, but not as refined as you might like...

I have a Meisterschaft GT and it definitely has an F1 tone to it. Pair it with a Fabspeed X-Pipe and you get this. This is forum member nuzey's car, but he has since removed this setup because his boss told him it was too loud :

I bet if someone just made a nice quality exhaust with a much more realistic price point, people would be all over it. $2k x-pipes and $5k systems are insane. It's just being greedy imo.

If their engineering is already done, based on the video clips I'm assuming it's done, why not? The recurring costs cannot be that high, and I don't see any of he tooling costs being so high that they'd require thounsands of units over which to amortize it. If they can have a good exhaust out there for $1,500 or less, axle back, I'd buy it in a hearbeat. Just make sure it's compatible with the E90 as well.

I really want the M performance exhaust, but $3.5K is a lot for the sound difference. I understand it's inconel, but to consider that weight savings as some sort of advantage on a car this heavy is a joke, and a waste of money. The sound alone is almost enough, but if it was $1.5K, it'd be on my car by now.

Forget the price point, forget what everyone says and how many exhausts there are on the market.

Just go ahead and get what ever feels right.

Every V10 I've heard sounds nothing like a V8 (Viper, M5, R8 V10) and never will regardless of exhaust system installed. So anyone trying to get a similar M5 F1 sound out of the S65 good luck to ya. Those two extra cylinders change everything.
