20 days to build an M3?

My car began production on May 11 and the BMW 800 number tells me that the expected finish date is May 30th. I know that at most it takes a week to build an M3. Is this normal for the 800 number to say just for them to give a safe estimate or is it a longer production process because I have an individual order? Has anyone else called and heard such a long estimate for production finish but it really finished in about a week? Thanks

Mine went into production on 5/10/11 and was to finish production tomorrow (5/17/11) called the number today and said it was in the body shop and on schedule. SO 20 days seems a little far out. Did you special order anything?

The BMW 800# is just reporting man landed on the moon.

It is never up to date and for the most part, tends to give out erroneous and out of date information. Your CA has access to the only reliable source of updates through his system.

He did mention that it was an individual order and those usually take longer than normal.

When did you place your order? I placed my order on April 26th and am wondering when it will go into production.

The 800 # and the online tracking is a joke. It is not accurate at all!

It is an individual order. Order was placed around march 25th but you have to wait 2 months just for production to begin because it's an individual order. I got lucky and production began a few weeks early. However I don't see why it would require 3 weeks as opposed to the regular 1 week. Im just curious as to whether people that placed a regular order also heard a 3 week estimate from the 800 number once it states that your vehicle is in production.

I was working with BMW Dealer. On 530d F10 I saw 2 dates on the sheet. The difference between them was 23 hours and 30 minutes (time of build that car).

For example:
von: 17:30 15.03.2011
bis: 17:00 16.03.2011

I don't remember M3.
