A vendor screwed up twice - once sent wrong shape and once mixed up the timing for the correct shape availability. I think I found another set somewhere in Eastern Europe. I may be home-made, but they swear the specs are right

I guess you need to keep a spare set at all times. Common Max, it's not rocket science. Even if you are getting rid of the car soon... you'll sell the pads to the future purchaser of your car.

You make too much sense - where is the fun in that? Actually, I had a reserve set with 3/4 of the pad left, and managed to kill them in two days I used them this year. I guess Pagid 9-2 is not a track-friendly compound.

thats crazy that you can kill a pad with 75% in 2 days... must have been some stupid fast driving.

and yea, you should have a spare set of pads at all times... i usually order a new set once i use up my spares so i always have something on hand.

which kit do you have ? AP racing?

It was a street compound, and I was overbraking, as I later saw on data logs (maybe it has something to do with my offroading in the beginning of the weekend :-)).

I have Alcon kit. Very happy with it but pads are tough to find. I have just found some Porsche Cup pads that have 99% matching shape and are widely available at nice price - if I had any DIY skills, I'd just file off some metal and use those.

Cool. Yeah sawsall and I had a good drive down to WGI last year, and on the way home I found some even better twisty roads. So I can definitely put together a "fun" and "scenic" route for those who don't mind spending a few extra hours getting there but having lots of fun along the way.

I'd like to leave Toronto by 10am latest, there are some nice roads through the Hamilton mountains, then hit the border and a bit of interstate, then lots of fun in the finger lakes region. For those of you doing CMP on Sunday, I assume you will just go straight south instead of coming all the way back via Hamilton?

Let me know who all wants to join!

I think those of us going to CMP first will probably make our way down to the Glen via Kingston. I can't wait - it's gonna be awesome!

If you guys get to the hotel before ZWEAPON, make sure to save us all a seat at the bar!

I can't believe you gave $50! That probably quadrupled the commission STALKER's salesperson got on the sale of his car!

Here's a bit of video from one of my sessions back on April 28th. Ran a best time of 2:27.58, but my theoretical best was 2.25.x.... Arghhh!

I'm planning to go up again on June 22, and then again July 6-7. So who's coming with me in July!?

if you find pads that are almost the same shape, just get a shop to install it for you. most good shops have some sort of belt grinder on side that they can use to grind down the pad a little and make it fit.

you are right, alcon pads are a little harder to find. ap racing, stoptech, brembo pad shapes are a little easier. i didnt have trouble finding pads locally for my stoptech kit on my m3...
