You don't need a line lock with Launch Control

Hey,Guys.

I've just discovered this today, regardless of how flat, level the surface is, once you activate launch control, the start flag comes on and when you mash on the gas holding the shifter forward, the rpm jump to 3,500 default with DCT GTS tune and the car will slowly start creeping forward regardless of how level the ground is. Which is perfect to help you stage the car at the dragstrip for example.

Now if you apply full brakes, that'll deactivate launch control. The key is as the car is slowly rolling forward, when you reach the staging point, using your left foot, aplly and keep slight pressure on the brake pedal while keeping your right foot mashing on the gas with your tach showing the desired launch rpm. This will stop the vehicle from rolling without deactivating Launch Control.

When you're ready to launch the car, let go the shifter and the brake pedal simultaneously, let the DCT do the shifting.

Another misconception, once you use launch control, you need to drive 1/2 mile to have Launch control available again.

It's actually a whole mile, not half.

Also the surface doesn't have to be level to launch, you can launch on a slight incline/ decline just apply slight brake pressure to prevent the car from rolling with your left foot while keeping your right foot on the gas ...

When you say "let the DCT do the shifting" this is in sport mode?

It should shift for you regardless of sport mode or not. IIRC you're supposed to push the pedal past the kick down switch for automatic shifting, but not 100% sure if this is the case. I always do just so I'm not taken by surprise when one time it does not shift.

It shifts perfectly right at redline every time.
