snowboarding and gopro HD

I tired my gopro for the first time snowboarding. I really like this angle but the camera fell off after a few runs. I used one of the adhesive mounts but I guess the cold temps and vibration didn't help. didn't even bother using the suction cup since it was moving around on the board while experimenting at home. not sure how to make this work. was thinking of screwing down a mount to the board but that won't work either. I am thinking of scuffing the board directly underneath the mount and then use something like liquid nails to secure it down. any ideas would be appreciated.

Not sure how to get it to stay on the board, but if there is a way of attaching a tether to the camera itself, then that might be enough to prevent you from losing it.

Attach a tough strap from the camera to your boot. So if it does fall off, you should feel it and stop, and at least the camera won't go flying off in a different direction down the hill.

Pretty neat video though, I like that location on the board too.

I was lucky I didn't lose the camera. Def have to use a tether next time. Don't care for the head/helmet mount or the pole mount or the chest mount

Oh wow, I have never before felt motion sick from watching a video, but all of the horizon changes in that clip made me feel nauseous. That is definitely not a good place to mount the camera because it's going to make some people feel sick to watch. Helmet would probably be much better.

have you tried a pump suction cup?

like this? It's nice because when it's fully sucked on the red line isn't visible. When you loose suction, the red line is visible so you can catch it before it flies off. Although these things are suppose to support up to 125 pounds. Lots of people use these to attach their $5k worth of camera and lens to while driving. Don't know if the cold affects them adversely though.

it comes with a suction cup but not as nice as the one shown in the previous post. I may have to look into that. I am lucky I didn't lose the camera when it came off. I had to hike up the hill 200 yds to find it. there is a also a surf board mount available which basically has a bigger adhesive area. love this camera

They have a tripod mount that screws right into the top of the one above.

Apparently they work under water and even on an inflatable boat! Snowboard should be plenty flat and smooth to attach too, so long as the cold doesn't screw it up.

I have the tripod mount. Thanks for sharing that info MPower! Will buy one since it looks like a really nice design compared to the one that it came with
