If it were me, I'd save the cash and install the ESS kit myself. From what I've read, it's pretty a straight forward install and there are plenty of people on the board with experience. Not to mention the guys at ESS have a reputation for being very responsive.

I don't have any experience with any shops around the Denver area other than BimmerHaus but they've been great for the work they have done for me. I'd be surprised if they have much E90/92 supercharger experience. I'm not aware of anyone in the area with a supercharged E90/92.

Actually, as long as you follow the manufactures recommendations, you shouldn't have an issue. (not saying you won't 100%. stock engines can have issues too)

I.E. Don't mess with their tune: don't increase timing of this and that, don't change maps, etc etc.
If you are suppose to run race gas (like, if you have a race map in there), don't run 91, and especially don't run lower than that (I have heard of a case where someone put 89 in their supercharged M3, when it was tuned for the track with a race map X.x...)

All the kits that I've personally seen are reliable as long as you follow the guidelines

I wish!! Got rid of the car before I could get a blower!! But everything else I had on the car was gintani/oe tune and loved it. The kits that they have produces plenty of power. If I get another M3, im def. going to throw a gintani blower in it. Couldn't be happier with the company.

Also I drove an Active Auto. supercharged car (thanks Akash) and that thing hauls a$$. The owner loves the kit and was a blast to drive. Active is known for having great quality products also.

Best thing to do is just call Gintani, ESS, Active, G-Power and have them answer all your questions and concerns.

GL with your search, at the end of the day your the one pulling the trigger on this, just do what you feel like doing.

this is a good idea.

from the questions the OP is asking, there are tons of answer all over the forum. go with whatever kit you like or feel you can trust. all of us have our own personal choices but the choice is all yours. we like our personal kits, so of course we may be a little one-sided with questions you ask. so i'll just say, read more, call the companies and find out which works best for you in terms of power wanted, location to get installed and cost of kit.

OP: Once you go SC, you will wish you did it sooner. It's a head rush! I strongly recommend it.

Pros: Awesome power, transforms the car above 5,000 RPM. Hang on! This is how the car should have been designed by BMW. Very docile, like stock below 3,000 RPM.

Cons: SC Expense, cost of gas and tires, GF or Wife will think you are obsessed, tickets.

I've got 14K on the odometer and added the SC at 7K. I haven't experienced any negatives and I tracked my car this very hot summer. There are several good SC's available and excellent installers throughout the country. I chose iND to perform my installation.

Good Luck with your decision!

My experience has been very similar to CBS (previous post). I too have the ESS VT-1 535 kit purchased through IND, and I have been thrilled by the results! Mine was installed when the car had 4,000 miles on it, and I now have about 6,500 miles on it.

I had my kit installed by a very solid local speed shop. They found the installaion to be very straight forward. They also found IND/ESS to be very responsive and helpful with the few minor questions they had during the installation process.

For the money, this kit is the hands down best bang for the buck! It gives you near supercar performance with the reliabilty and practicality of a stock M3.

I highly recommend ESS and IND (Nate at IND is very good)
