I'm fine with the Gallery, but they usually have very limited parking spaces available. I think there is a Staples across the street (just in case).
So 10 AM at the Gallery? |

Agreed with the limited parking..I'm great with the staples. I've got to head to the pats game tomorrow so anytime between 10-11 works me.

All I'm not making it.. Been up all night with the flu..it's been raining as well so for us fair weather folk that does not help.
Lets try and get something set up in a few weeks weather permitting. That way we can try and plan a day and try and recruit more folks |

All, I signed my paperwork yesterday and ordered an M3 coupe. Most of the toys such as Prem, Comp, Heated Seats, Enhanced Audio and DCT. However I may modify the order to MT. Very much back-n-forth on this one item.
MRSSIIM3, thanks again for the pictures. Color is Silverstone w/ black, carbon roof and trim. Delivery will be mid to late May. When I was signing the paperwork, someone was taking delivery of their new M6 vert. MSRP was $140k. Beautiful car but..... |

I have the 6MT and would get the DCT if I had ordered the car because it is a little faster. The power on these cars is in the 6000-8300 range and when you are on the street and decide you suddenly need to access it, the DCT can do it faster than you can with a 6MT. Could be the difference between being left behind and not having enough room to catch up or staying even or pulling ahead. I have never had a car that I did not want to be faster.
The 6MT is more involving to the driver since one leg and one hand have to do something. It is probably also more reliable and less expensive to maintain in the very long term (though DCTs have a very good reliability record during the 5 years for which data exists). Hopefully you will drive it, rather than put it away in the garage to preserve for its next owner. |

pbonsalb, agreed with your statement on the performance benefit of the DCT. Even though I had not owned a M3. It was simply from a point-of-view of driver engagement (i.e. fun factor) as to why I would opt for the MT. Thanks for your input.
It will not be a garage queen. My last BMW, being a 335i vert w/ Dinan stuff, was exactly that. After 3.5 years of ownership, I accumulated a total of 12k miles on the odometer. IMO, pathetic and only the next owner benefited from this approach. For a variety of reasons, I will be picking up a second used car. One reason is for my two dogs who I take hiking and trail running 5-6 days a week. Would hate to introduce all of the hair, mud, etc to a new M3. |

Ok, so the good news is that we, the ones who could make it, seem to all agree on that the weather was not good enough to take the M out of the winter sleep. Even I did not, I left my “garage queen” inside and took my DD to see, whether someone is going to be there. I know, I am sorry, I was not responding, posting and I did not inform anybody that I would be there. I live close enough (about 5 minutes drive) to the Staples parking lot in Norwood and the family situation allowed for it, so I decided in the morning to check.
No big deal, I will again try next time. Guenther |
