How much is this rash going to cost me?

Backed into a curb the other night. Can this be repaired? Any estimate on the cost? And any good repair shops in Jax Fl for reference.

Check with your local dealer and see who they use...or you can try these guys - just be aware that they are franchisees so the fact that I had a great experience in Denver doesn't necessarily mean that the Jax guys will do good - but you can ask around.

Gotta refinish the wheel. Take it somewhere reputable, otherwise you may see some imperfections.

Thanks guys.
I'm going to see who the dealer uses. I think their call AutoButler. I'm due for an oil change next month so I'll probably hold off until then. I don't want to have to ship the wheel anywhere.

That would do it in most areas. Our local company charges $150 retail, but we can usually break them down a little bit.

FYI, replicating that OEM finish is very difficult. I had a high end shop turn away the job a few years ago b/c he said it's very tough to get it right.

That's BS and not true at all if that's what they said. That high end shop must really suck if they can't match OEM finish. I could possibly believe it IF it were something like gunmetal, black, or something NOT OEM silver. Hopefully you found another shop that did a good job.

If someone tells you that the wheel needs to be taken off and shipped somewhere, you should run away fast before they start trying to sell you a new flux capacitor

That is very simple curb rash that can be fixed while wheel is on the car, easily matched, takes less than an hour, and shouldn't be more than $150 (and that's being really generous). Search for alloy wheel repair in your area, get a few quotes, and referrals.

Actually NO, it's not BS...lol. I was told it by more than one reputable shop. Gunmetal and black are simple to match. It's a unique high polish finish that isn't easy to replicate.

Doesn't take much for any shop to say SUREEE, we can do that....and take your money...then give you a more than subpar product.

OEM silver? hahahah. Not even close... These aren't OEM 18's in silver. They're 19s with polished finish.

I'm also looking for a place to fix this, but in the San Francisco area. Any good recommendations? Polished step lip...

+1, the 220 finish isnt just a solid color, has a machined look to it and hard to fix. requires some special process to get the grain right. I had one repaired by seattle wheel and they did fantastic job.

That's what I was afraid of. When I look close it looks like there is some sort of thin plastic protective coating on it.

No but I've visited there a few times. Let me know if you find someone. The internet doesn't show much in town. There was I guy I used to fix a leak on a 545i rim I think is was a name like quicksilver. He was a mobile service. Did a good job on the rim but don't know if he could do anything with this.
