Man, I want so bad. Guess Turner's not participating in the new sports car thing next year? Bummer.

I would have to tell them that I put a 4 cylinder in it to get better gas mileage.

Cool video. Makes me want to get a dedicated track car even more now.

Those cars raced in the Continental series, GS class. 93 and 94 were run in the Rolex series.
As someone else mentioned, maybe they've got an M4 in the works. Schedule for the United Sports Car org hasn't been released yet. Would have to be a quick transition from delivery to race car.

Here's another teaser of the #93 car at the Rolex 24 of Daytona.

I'm wondering too. The United series has two prototype series and two GT series.
I was hoping Turner would be racing something in the upper GT class (which is taking on the ALMS GT spec, and will be called GT Le Mans) where Rayhall is running those Z4 GTs you can buy from Regensberg. The Rolex GT where these Turner M3s have been running is getting pushed down to the lower GT series in United, called GT Daytona, as ProAm with a requirement for one am driver (whereas they've typically been running two pros in Rolex GT). The Turner blog says they're worried about the GT-Daytona class moving too far down the tree in the United 4-class series. I guess this is a sign they won't be tuning these cars up to GT LeMans class or down to GT Daytona class. I hope they've got something else in the works for the GT LeMans. Those 95-97 M3s can keep racing in Continental if the Ams keep writing checks. |

I don't think they even use three-pedal cars down in their Continental series M3s. As I always say, driving a manual doesn't make you a man. Installing a new manual yourself, in your own garage, after you lunch the first one -- THAT makes you man. Nice thread jack, BTW. Happy to help. |
