Vorsteiner VS-110 the thrill of victory and the agony… oh the agony!!
Let me start by giving thanks to Kahunacanuck for selling me these amazing wheels and ensuring that they arrived in one piece. I’d also like to thank Kaiv for his great advice that he has provided on these forums. Never asked him a question personally but in all my searches for wheel shops and collision shops (more on that later) his responses on these forums have been great.
I anticipate the arrival of the wheels and decide to work from home that day. The plan was to receive the new wheels and run to Tire and Wheel Outlet here in SD on my “lunch break” to get the TPMS swapped out from my old wheels (VMR VB3) and install the new set. I get to the tire shop and hang out in the waiting area when they inform me that the key for the wheel lock broke when trying to remove the rear wheels and they asked me to go to BMW to grab another key, only ˝ a mile away so no biggie. Go there, get a new key and pick up some extra lugs, you never know right? Get back to the shop the second key breaks. I immediately have a flashback to when the last time my rear wheels were removed and remember that it was when BMW of Escondido did my rear brakes. How does a dealer over torque lugs and even worse, the wheel lock bolt? At this point Omar at T&WO tells me there is nothing that he can do and sends me off to Budget Muffler and Brake Automotive in Chula Vista and see if they can remove the lugs. Mike at the shop says he sees this at least once a week and it shouldn’t be a problem. His plan was to weld some metal onto the lugs and try and then try to remove them. Unfortunately this didn’t work out so the only other option was to drill the wheel locks out. These guys spent about 3 hours drilling these things out but thankfully this worked. I regret throwing away what was left of the bolt because it would have really put things in perspective. Thankfully my rotors were ok and my old wheels sustained some superficial damage but I wasn’t shedding any tears over them. After spending 6 hours trying to get this done I was spent and decided to go home. The next day I get the wheels installed and the end result was worth all of the effort. Really thrilled with how everything turned out but my car is filthy. On Saturday to wash her up to get some proper photos and decide to go out for a spin after. While waiting for the light on the Sea World Drive off ramp off of I-5 I get rear ended by some lady in a Ford Escape. My bumper took the brunt of the damage and my trunk is slightly off alignment. I will be taking her to Chapparone Auto body and Painting based off of Kaiv’s recommendation. So onto the good stuff: The wheels are amazing. The fit and finish is outstanding and they are light. Until now I never understood what the effects ere of unsprung weight. The car feels much more agile and responsive. My butt-dyno definitely approves. I was concerned that not having a BBK would hurt the look but it actually works really well with the standard brakes. Perhaps is due to the slight contrasts in color from the wheels. Specs & Mods: 19x10 – AD08 265/30 19x11 – AD08 295/30 H&R Springs w/ EDC Revinora R-CRT Street Lip Some more mods will be planned and I plan to have a proper photo shoot once she all patched up. Pardon the crappy pics. TLDR Version: - Dealer over torqued my locking nuts - Wheels are awesome - Get rear ended - People on this board are very helpful

Love the VS-110's ... interesting story
Looks great w/o BBKs already, but if you throw some yellow BBKs on there it'd complete the look! |

Good man for the cliffs notes. Typical dealership experience, sorry you got rear ended, and the wheels look awesome.

The VS-110s look great! BBK would really set off the look when all said and done.

Sorry about all the hassle....Wheels look great and although I think it would look great, I dont think a BBK is needed with these wheels compared to other wheels that have a lot of empty space
