My new 2013 M3!

(x-posted in the Class of 2013 thread)

Picked up my new 2013 E92 a week and a half ago but because of work, new house, etc I haven't been able to take or post any pix. Anyway, there was some nice Labor Day weather so I gave it a good wash with some Poor Boys products. This is my first M3 and it's AWESOME! I've been wanting an M3 in all it's evolutions since I first started driving 20+ years ago.

Jerez black w/ black novillo, ZCP, M-DCT, EPS, and all the other goodies (except extended leather). And yes, I did opt for the moonroof...nuff said. Ordered back in early June 2012 and it was delivered on August 22d with 9 miles on the odo. Painted reflectors are on the way as well as a set of Lux angel eyes when they ever come in. Later this week I'll begin the install process of my Bel STi-R+, V1, and LI dual that I took out of my B8 S4 before I sold it.

As to comparisons with the S4, I now know what people mean when they say it's a completely different animal - literally. The S4 was a nice, quick, sedate yet fast and great handling car. The M3 is louder, slightly harsher, definitely faster, more distinct, and much more involving. And surprisingly I much prefer the interior of the M3 over the Audi.

Hope you like it - just go easy on my me and my moonroof choice.

Being I'm a fellow "moonroofer", you won't get any crap from me about it... Nice car!! I still think Carbon Roof goes best with the car, but I have to have to moonroof on all my cars... Simple compromise: wrap the roof in Carbon Fiber material from 3M..!

Enjoy the new car!

Got more looks honestly from ordering a manual ZCP here ... Oh and a sunroof too. Just not into the whole carbon thing. Can't wait to post up pics when I get back with mine Wednesday =)

(and I do *not* miss my B8S4 at all, hope I'll be ok with the E92 interior as well)

Congrats, gorgeous machine. I'm about to order one, may be same color combination without sunroof. How much did you pay?
I wonder if $500 - $1000 over invoice is possible in NC.

I see you're in Raleigh. We've bought several BMW's from Leith and have always had a good experience. You shouldn't have any issues negotiating that price window. I bargained down to $600 over THEN added in loyalty discount, USAA discount, and the iphone app rebate from your first month's payment (all 3 are rebates so should be factored in after negotiating selling price since they are out of BMW USA's pocket, not the dealerships). My CA was actually the one who told me about the USAA and iphone app discounts!

I think you'll be happy too. Amazingly, the car actually remembers that you left it in 'preset' mode and 'random' mode, unlike the MMI in Audi. I hated that! It's also nice to be able to display a map and music info simulaneously if you get iDrive. The leather, seats, and steering wheel are much nicer than Audi's as well.

Think I'll be ok with the E92, seems to have a lot of little thoughtful features that are different from the Audis. I thought the interior of the B8 was certainly better than the B6/B7 before it but just couldn't get used to the size of the car. I've had 3 B5S4s and that was pretty much the perfect Audi for me, minus lack of nav/tech. I've driven the M3s in various flavors at the PC for work events and know I'll be happy with the driving aspect. looking forward to having a fun car again.
