While I agree with what you two are implying: that if you can afford an m3 you'd better be not be worried about the price of gasoline, the response you suggest is a) untruthful - because every m3 owner knows his approximate mpg as it's staring him the face b) doesn't answer the question asked c) makes you sound like the stereotypical m3 driver.

I don't think everyone that asks about the MPG are actually "worried" about the poor mileage....nor are they necessarily "tree hugger" types.

As a car enthusiast i always end up asking the MPG question because i usually see a certain correlation between low mpg and high performance

Lolz, actually I did. I went to the turner motorsports website on my phone and showed him a clear description and picture of a bottle. He didn't talk much after that.

Today is exactly 1 month since I took delivery of mine, so thought to share the questions I've got... sadly most were unmemorable ones maybe because I don't drive with my side window open enough...

Questions I get from my coworkers are the usual How is your new car?
How many kms have you put on it?

The slightly better one is, have you broken it in yet??

Well, on all days it was today the 1-month mark that for the first time a random guy in his E46 sedan in the next lane at the light yelled over.

"Is that the new one with the V8??"

I couldn't help but to remind him... yeah, it's the V8 one but they are already in the last MY of the "new" one. :

Can't stop people from trying to talk to me or take pictures when i drive mine on the weekends. The attention is cool but it really does get annoying sometimes. Theres not a day i don't come back home without a crap load of finger prints on it. It sucks on matte!

And when people i haven't seen in a while see me in the M (Only had my M3 a little over a month) they're all like "whoaaaaaaa look at this guy, what happened to your lexus?" Me:It's at home, i kept it as my DD Them:"Whaaaaaaat 2 cars? excuseeeeee me" Im all like in my head im just thinking to myself... If you only knew how hard i've worked/still work to be able to enjoy this damn car on the weekends. Unfortunately most people are just clueless to what it means to bust your ass to get what you want. Douchebags

I've only had 1 guy - who turned out to be car nut - recognize it as an M3 (area again) - most have thought it's a regular E92. I'm OK w/ that.
