Im now 25 years old.. And I can remember just dreaming of once having an m3 back when I was 16.. When I was 20 I got my 335i coupe.. Then began to earn more and finally got my m3 when I was 22. The e92 m3 is just an absolute all around perfectly built sports car.. Sure I want a 997 turbo.. Or a gallardo .. And in all reality if I really wanted one I could probably manage to get one... But I like to drive my cars... And those cars are just not ment to be daily'd.
So all in all. My m3 is my dream car... And in the future if I get super rich somehow were I could afford to daily a underground racing 1200hp gallardo that will be the dream.

Keep the M3 for a DD then have something "near exotic" for fun days. Aston Martin Vantage or Mas Coupe S is what I'm targeting. I will pick one up in 10 years for my 50th b-day present and my 2nd mid-life crisis
While 911's are great cars, they are too "common" for the $$$. A Ferrari / Lambo would be fun as a 3rd car. however they get too much attention. An Aston / Maserati S is more of a GT and can be comfortable for road tips, etc while still very rare.

Still dreaming of an m3 like you all say, it does everything just so well. Hoping to get the lci model of the next gen coupe around 2017 or whenever that may be... Until then I'll enjoy my 328 |

Why isn't a 997 turbo or gallardo daily driveable? Gallardo's are VERY DD, and most of the maintenance can be DIY. Murci is a bit different, however. |

A dream is that. A dream. All of those reasons you listed for those other vehicles don't matter when it comes to a dream. A dream has no negatives. It doesn't matter the refinement of the interior or how far away the closest dealer is.
My dream: Aston Martin V12 Vantage. The end. How does it compare to my M3? I don't know. I've never had the good fortune to drive one. Wish I did. But now we're talking about wishes... and wishes are different than dreams For now I drive an M3... my dream come true. |

Attainable : Ferrari 360 f1 coupe, rosso corsa, shields, challenge grill, Tubi exhaust, modular wheels, tan daytona seats, just love the lines ! I think more than the F430...
Porsche 993 Targa or coupe, silver , red interior, clean, no mods. IMO 993 was the pinacle of porsche designed after after the 959 and one of the most beautiful porsches. Less attainable: Ferrari F40 or F50, Porsche 959 or Carrera GT. Completely a pipe dream: Ferrari 250 GTO, A painting and a symphony embodied in one. I would look at it all day and fire it up to listen to the tearing silk sound of the V12. 1955 Mercedes 300 SLR Ulhenhaut Coupe, only 2 were made, both owned by MBZ, way ahead of its tim in performance and design! ... In the meantime my M3 is proving to be a great fun reliable beautiful car !

My own M3. I remember in the Marine Corps I was making $13k a year. The M3 back then was a dream for sure. Now it's a dream come true.

my dream car since i went for a ride in one is a Shelby Cobra Roadster...
911 Turbo Cabrio comes close second... and an M3, but to be honest, the more time i spend on here, the less i "fantasize" about having a M3 one day... not quite sure why?... maybe having too much of a good thing (albeit only through your guys' stories) kills the excitement?... having said that, i'd love to have a E46 Cabrio in LMB / white leather interior in my garage !!! |

GT3 is my real world dream car. I have driven a 997 and was blown away by the performance, noise and handling. I could have bought one instaed of the new M3 but it would have meant going for a 5yr old example for the same money.. Mmmmmm...
Otherwise my ultimate dream car is a Zonda F. I've been to the Pagani factory and when I saw a Zonda for the first time in the flesh I had tears in my eyes. No other car has had the same impact on me! Bob |

In April 2001 I realized a dream when I picked up my brand new E46 325i. I never thought that I'd own a BMW. My wife reminded me today that I explained to her at that time what an M car was and that I would never be able to get one of those. This coming Thursday I'll be picking up my 08 E92 Jerez Black M3. Another dream comes true and this will ep become my current dream car. Last Christmas, while in California, I drove what I thought was, and what actually still might be, my ultimate dream car, an Aston Martin V8 Vantage. The car is simply gorgeous! But living in Canada, not really a DD. I'll get that Aston eventually, guess I'm living my dream! Lucky me.

I was just thinking of what a wonderful day it was here in Philly today. I came across this thread and wondered though the M3 is no longer my "ultimate" dream car because situations and circumstances change, it's certainly on the list. This got me really feeling thankful and humble in reflecting on my life and pondering how many folks ever achieve a dream. I have achieved many and am extremely thankful to my higher power as we all should be.
