A few questions about my new M...
1.I have folding Mirrors but arent they supposed to fold automatically when you park? Is there a way to get them to do so?
2. How do I execute blue tooth streaming from my phone? I can get my phone to sync via blue tooth but I would like to play Pandora on my phone and have it go to my car stereo. Is this possible? 3. Is it not possible to see the current MPG that changes while you are driving? I can see the total MPG that my car is getting but I like to the variable one that changes as you drive.

I see you are one of the few with a 2011 who chose the 19" wheels and EDC, instead of ZCP.
Can you tell me why? I am struggling with this decision. Sorry for the off topic.

2. No idea, sorry. I'll let you know whenever the captain of the Dream Diva decides that it's a good idea to stop fucking around at sea. I loved my 2008 M3 and I can't wait to get into my 2011.5. 3. No, but there is this neat mode where you can get your speedometer.... |

That would be a good reason to get ZCP. Driving around town, showing off, building a show car, cruising on open roads, taking your kids to school, ferrying around clients, these are reasons to NOT get ZCP. |

I think a lot of people on this forum would agree if you want EDC and 19" wheels you should go with ZCP, and only abstain if you don't care about EDC and 19"s and that's what I am struggling with. I do want EDC and 19"s, but won't be tracking the car. (sorry for OT)

My personal take is to get ZCP, since the wheels alone are worth it imo. You can always trade the wheels if you don't like the style. I personally know a few people who would love to get rid of their 19"s for ZCP 19"s. (I apologize for OT as well, hopefully I sufficiently answered the OP's question though. ) Also, if you don't want to go aftermarket to lower your car, at least you get 0.4 inches from the factory. |

My only reason for going with the 19's vs ZCP is the fact that I like the 19's better then the ZCP wheels. Thats it. The difference of 19's + EDC vs ZCP is only a few hundred dollars.

On one of your stalks (I believe the upper stalk, I forget it's been a while) there is a protrusion off the side, it's a button. Hitting it cycles through all of your options.
I believe the options are oil level, velocity, MPG, and miles until empty. |

i dont think tracking a car or not should be the main basis for deciding on zcp....But if it is, then also think of it this way, If you dont track the car, and you get ZCP, the highways become your racetrack. plus theres always comfort mode... |

One other question, is the M symbol on your Tach way darker then the rest of the lights? Is there a way to make it brighter?

No, when I had my car, it was illuminated about as brightly as everything else. Maybe a little dimmer, but not "way" darker. As I don't have experience with the new iDrive, I'd say just check your iDrive under lighting options, might be in there? Probably not but doesn't hurt to check.

It works well, but it's sort of a pain to setup. Setting up bluetooth for calls is something different. You have to setup bluetooth audio in the audio settings. Setup is so unintuitive that I can't even explain how I did it. I just fiddled for a bit until I got it working. Once it's working it works pretty well. It will auto play/pause your iPhone (or whatever BT device you are streaming from) when you get in or leave your car. You just can't select tracks from iDrive. Limited to tracking forward and back.

Speed is a vector. A vector has direction and magnitude. Therefore speed can not ever be negative even when going in reverse. You say your direction is opposite of forward or it can simply mean the magnitude of the vector, speed, is negative. That magnitude is referred to as velocity. So velocity tells you nothing about your direction, simply your distance traveled per time. Speed tells you direction as well. Its a BS semantic point that is pertinent in physics, but kinda dumb to apply to everyday things like this. Last edited by Lowest_Frequency; 12-16-2010 at 01:03 PM.. |

I will be dropping the car on coils and putting on bigger wheels. So the EDC and the 19" stock wheels are useless to me. Ill take the 18" wheels put winters on them instead. If I was going to leave the car bone stock I would agree ZCP is the way to go forsure. |

I do allot of stuff with my Bimmers like CCA tracking and drives. I see nothing wrong with doing this stuff with out ZCP. After all, pre 2011 you had no choice!

I got the 19's and NON-ZCP because I KNOW for a FACT that the stock 19's are FORGED, and I havn't seen anywhere that shows concrete evidence of whether the ZCP 19's are cast or forged.
Forged = Stronger + Lighter, for NYC roads it was a no-brainer. In regards to your bluetooth question, I've never been able to stream pandora over my bluetooth, please let me know if you figure out a way. Thanks!
