Nice choice with Melbourne. I'll be choosing Jerez/Red. Wish I could afford individual paint, I would do Laguna Seca Blue!

I like Smerf blue too. Reminds me of the early days on the E46 M.

I didn't think that you can lock in a price when you order...
eg. if your deal is $500 over invoice...then when the car shows up, whatever the invoice is plus $500 is the deal. If the invoice changes, you will get hit for it...

Not sure that is right. I believe you do in fact lock in your price when you order. You are signing a binding contract when you put down the deposit to pay that price for that car.

Maybe one of the dealer sponsors can confirm, but that is what I believe to be true.

^yes! Ordering only happens once a price is agreed upon. Your deposit and paperwork is binding and should be in good faith.

Bmw says if you submitt the order and the rate lock before the date of the price changes then you are lock in, your price protected as long as the name on the approval matches the name on the vehicles build.

$2k is enough to accelerate my order as well! here's my build:

2011 E90 M3

- Le Mans Blue exterior (couldn't justify $4500 for Atlantis Blue )
- Palladium Silver Extended Leather
- Competition Package
- Heated Front Seats
- Premium Package 2
- Convenience Package
- Satellite Radio
- Power Rear Sunshade
- M Double Clutch
- Enhanced Premium Sound
- Split fold-down rear seat

Nice car! Great choices. I also would DIE to be able to afford individual paint, I want Laguna Seca Blue, but the premium is just too much.

The price protection is similar to the one we recently had in September for the other models. Provided you have a production number on order with your name on it by close of business December 31, you will be price protected. BMW supplies a summary report called "2011 Price Protection Summary" to the dealers so there is no confusion.

I had over twenty deliveries come in for October that were price protected. The invoices showed the new increase even on the price protected vehicles which was a bit scary, but BMW honored every one.

One more note: The vehicle has to be delivered by 3/31/2011.

Regards,

David

The price increase has been confirmed (...as stated in this thread). It wasn't a bully tactic.

It is my understanding that for a Euro Delivery, you first have to submit a request to lock in a "pick-up" date to BMW. I assume that that does NOT constitute an "order"?

How long after the submission of these pick-up dates to BMW does it take BMW to get back and setup production/delivery?

I don't think there is anyway for me to get out of the $500 increase as I am still waiting to hear back from BMW on my dates slated at end of March 2011.

Call your CA NOW and get your production number - stressing the importance of the price increase. If the date is the issue, consider taking ANY date, then changing it afterwards.

With $500 price increase and $1500 holiday cash, I think $2k is a worthwhile amount of money to save to start a thread about.

why the sarcasm? Just because one can afford a 60K+ car does not mean he/she does not have to be money conscious, in fact, I'm sure most of us are able to afford such vehicles and lifestyles because of this awareness....

as one said, with this + the HC, it adds up to 2K...but perhaps 2K doesn't effect you and your wallet either, good for you tho....

Happy New year...
