Engine Malfunction/DSC Failure/DBC Failure/Increased Emmissons All Lit Up at Once
Sitting in my kitchen waiting for Roadside Assistance with a tow for my 2 week old brand new M3 with 600 miles. Started it up this morning, got out of the driveway and then the whole dash lit up like the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. Significant loss of power, rough idle, could not shift the DCT. I was able to make it back into my driveway but now the car stalls each time I try to start it. I had a 911 for nearly three years and it was bullet proof. This thing is dead in 600 miles. Gotta love it!

It starts and then either immediately stalls and idles very roughly. DTC shifts automatically, even in manual mode, and will not permit me to override. When I was driving back to my house it was in 7th gear doing 20 MPH and would barely make it up a small hill. Its at the dealer now waiting to get plugged in.

I had the same issue but it was the wheels sensor.... Same error messages! Warranty will take care of it!

Car is still at the dealer awaiting parts that are now supposed to arrive tomorrow. Kind of ironic that the M3 was recently named the most trouble-free sports car.

What is going on here? I just posted in other threads about "Increased Emissions".
Mine is a 2011. 3,700 miles. O2 sensor replaced yesterday. Fingers crossed. |

After a full week, the car is finally done. I will be picking it up tomorrow morning. Hopefully, this was an isolated incident and not a sign of things to come.

Happened to me at 450 miles. But only once, and I had < 1/4 tank. I sputtered and hobbled in that attenuated mode straight to the dealer (on a Sunday) to leave it overnight for service. On a hunch I tried restarting and it roared to life no problem! So I drove it home. The next day asked service about it, and they felt that if the error signals were gone it should be okay for me to keep driving, and they'll flag it to be checked out at my 1200 next week. Needless to say, I've kept my break-in driving pretty close to home.

Looks like you got the special edition...you know, the one with the 4500rpm redline. Wow, that's not good. I hope everything works out. I'm curious as to what the cause is.

Make sure to have them check the voltage on the battery. When a lot of things go wrong all at once, sometimes it is because the ECU flipped out due to low voltage.
