yeah it seems to work very well, but i'm lazy and don't feel like downloading/learning how to use it. plus i think you may have to shoot in RAW and I haven't done that yet, just JPG.

Nice shots Nikki! I've been using the XTi as my travel/backup body for a couple of months now and really like it.

What lens(es) do you have?

Nice pics- although, IMHO, I think your previous camera (SD550?) produced crisper images... maybe a learning curve for the new camera?

I'm looking to purchase a Rebel XTi for work. Do you have a telephoto zoom lens?

BTW- are you anywhere near 1610 N. Federal Highway? just wondering...

Simmi,

I'm not sure what you mean by crisper images, but perhaps you're referring to the shallow depth of field. That's when the image is in focus, and things around it, even when very near by, are out of focus.

If this IS what you are reffering to, it's done on purpose. If this ISN'T what you're refferring to... I don't agree. I think these pics loo great.

///Matt,
I'm aware of the function of depth of field and the fact that it was being utilized.

Dude, all I'm saying is I'm aware of the fact that nikki is "testing it out" (rebel XTi), though I've seen other pics she has taken with her other camera(s) and the subjects in focus were "more focused" than those of the pics in this thread.

Trust me, she takes far better photos than I do and I'm in no way criticizing her work- I always look forward to checking out the pics she posts.

Simmi, I wasn't being defensive, or accusing you of anything! I was just trying to figure out what you were giving constructive criticism on! =)

///Matt,

I know you weren't being defensive and what not, and I'm not offering any constructive criticism. I don't post much, but I do check out photos quite often because I have an appreciation for photography, especially when it comes to nikki's works.

But, like I said, I'm aware of the fact that she's "testing it out" and still trying to perfect her skills with the new camera. Its quite a change when transitioning from an Elph to a digital SLR. I just happen to own an Elph SD550 and plan on purchasing a Rebel XTi soon. That's all!!!

Just drop it- lets get back to the subject...

Nikki, if you're still checking this thread, did you get a macro ring flash? If so, which one do you recommend? Also, which zoom lens did you get?
