any finance junkies out there? what do u guys think will happen to these rates in june because of what is going on in europe and the dollar appreciating so much against the euro. euro is at a 4 year low. how will bmw benefit from this and will the rates stay the same for june?

Canadian May residuals??

Example, my M3 coupe lease is for 36 month, 12000mi/year, so my residual is 59%..which is awesome for a M3

2011 BMW M3 Sedan
24 Month – Residual 59% of MSRP – .00230 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 52% of MSRP – .00230 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 42% of MSRP – .00235 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 34% of MSRP – .00235 Base Rate

2011 BMW M3 Coupe
24 Month – Residual 63% of MSRP – .00230 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 57% of MSRP – .00230 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 43% of MSRP – .00235 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 35% of MSRP – .00235 Base Rate

2011 BMW M3 Convertible
24 Month – Residual 70% of MSRP – .00230 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 64% of MSRP – .00230 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 40% of MSRP – .00235 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 32% of MSRP – .00235 Base Rate

First time poster here although have been lurking in the forums for a long time and found a lot of the information to be very useful.

I currently have a 2011 M3 Coupe on order (hopefully on the ship as this is posted). Does anyone know if the 57% residual for a 2011 M3 coupe 36 month lease applies in Canada. I ordered beginning of April and the residual quoted at that time was 50% which is in line with prior information posted for April residuals. The Canadian BMW website is not using a 57% rate, in fact it seems to be using a 47% rate from March.

This makes no sense whatsoever.

Anyone watching the used car market can see that convertibles are almost always less expensive as there is a much smaller market for such vehicles. This is a trend you will see in almost any car...the convertibles are generally less desirable. Look at 911 Turbos, M3s, 335iC, Corvettes, etc

Where is BMW getting their data? 11% spread between 2 year lease on a sedan and convertible?

Seeing how the Euro is tanking every day against the dollar, I actually wouldn't be surprise if the residuals for JUNE actually went up 1-3% here and there.

BMW is cleaning up and making more money because of the dollar vs. euro fiasco, they might pass that along in the residuals as they have done so for May... We'll see...

Lock May rates, wait for June rates...

It would be nice if they lowered the money factors a bit too...

Maybe, but I have a feeling we might see a 1-3% (if not more) increase for JUNE because the Euro is at 1.21 against the dollar today.

I have my May rates locked, my car is on the ship and will be here on June 16th so I have the advantage of seeing both months...

Hoping for a 3% increase for June... Come on BMW!

sorry i have no clue about this residual thing so the higher the better ???
and if you were to lease when its high it lowers your payments.... so for those that are leasing are you planning on keeping the car after ? im currently leasing been year and a half have another year and a half to go but wasnt sure if i should buy the car after whats a deciding factor.....

Mine is going to be put on a ship soon and will be here in june sometime. Do you think I could renegotiate the lease based on june lease program if it is better? I am locked in for the may program now. Let me know. Thanks

My dealership will give me the best rate from May until my car is delivered in June/July. I cannot confirm if this is standard practice but they should give you the best rate (assuming June's rates are better).

I can't believe the change since Feb. I may have leased at these rates but it was a non-starter in Feb. Bodes well for resale in three years though.

wow, 64% on 36 month e93 lease. why would anyone buy one outright unless they planned on keeping it for a very long time.

There is no way you'd get 64% of what you paid back after 3 years...

I remember I had 61% residual on 3 year, 24,000kms on my e90 330i which was great at the time.

Yes, they'll give you the JUNE rate if it's better than the May rate. That's the advantage of locking a rate before your car gets here - you get the best of both worlds.

I'm in the same boat, locked into MAY hoping JUNE is even better.

Euro went up today on signs of China backing Europe but it's low and hopefully it drops even more.

The residuals on these M cars are fantastic right now.

yeah I think i'm going to take advantage of May rates..

Here what I have so far

M3 convertible and its a $72.5K MSRP and I think my deal will end up being $3K out the door, and $850/per month inclusive of taxes.

problem is in Maryland I think even on leases you have to pay taxes on the full price of the car. which isn't normally worth it but at this residual I think it makes sense

BMW is running a 2 month program cycle now so the June rates and residuals should be the same as May. They might get better, but shouldn't get worse.

If they change for June, by what date should we expect that to happen, is it typically the first week of the month?

The residuals are the same, but the money factor is slightly better. I don't have the exact figures in front of me, I can get them tomorrow.

Just called VOB in MD. They have a 2010 E93 and the best he could do was $1248 payment, 36 months, 15K miles year, $4000 out the door. Sticker of around $81. This sounded really high compared to what I have heard on here. Does this sound right to you guys?
Thanks,
Chris

Forget the 2010, order a 2011 so you can get the better lease rates. Also don't forget to negotiate that price way down. $800 to $1000 over invoice MAX. Some people are getting cars at invoice if they're willing to travel to get them.
