I registered for US Military in Germany. Above the USA it says NATO. I hope to keep the plates after registering here in Italy.

Thanks.
I was relieved to find more info than the downloadable version from BMW USA, but I don't think I'll have the time to scan the owners manual. Any specific questions?

I know that the military phased out the "USA" platesfor American owned vehicle registered in Germany. I presume that you were on transport plates to get to Italy?
I was just happy to get the keys. Didn't ask too many questions.

Don't blame you, my friends and coworkers think I'm crazy for getting the car.

That's cool, I happen to prefer Euro plates, maybe because it's something different.

congratulations on your new M! I was just in the naples area and amalfi coast for several days before getting stuck here in roma due to mr. volcano. it's certainly perfect weather for an e93, i did not see any other M3's for my last 3 weeks in europe though I did see a bimota and f430 spyder in sorrento, r8 and e60 m5 here in roma, gallardo in paris, etc. for sure it would be crazy stresful to drive and park an M3 in naples proper

enjoy the car in good health, southern italy is definitely a vivacious place, i wish i could have driven my M from sorrento to amalfi and up and down the coast but i just don't have the guts to do it in anything bigger than a mini cooper s!
