What kind of screws
Have you used to install the various lips out there?
Seems like you need something with washers on them to distribute the force...how long, and what type of screws? Are you predrilling holes in the bumper?

first i taped the lip onto the car with masking tape, line everything up properly...
then drill holes using the right drill bit... i used wood screws with a self tapping tip to mount the lip on... spacers were used as well so the holes on the lip doesnt get bigger over time. i also used some 3m mounting tape to secure the lip on... so between the mounting tape and the 6 screws that i used to mount the lip, i think its pretty secure on my front bumper.

I'm a bit leery of using wood screws...what do you mean by spacers? From the way you describe it, sounds like you mean washers?
Is anyone using bolts? I'm not sure if the underside is accessible w/o removing the entire bumper, but it seems like bolts would be more secure. There are a ton of lips out there, what are people using?

the wood screws i used look like this... i used wood screws because they are self tapping so they make the install easier to do. i also used washers to distribute the load and got regular metal washers from the hardware store. it does the job perfectly.
trust me, if you bring it to a body shop, this is what they usually use anyway. the other way install it is to use bolts. but since bolts and nuts work together, you'd have to take the whole bumper off to install the lip.
