The Advans, Volks, and Forgelines are all too expensive for me, and there's something about each that I don't like (offset, staggered vs. square setup). The reason I bought the Forgestars is becasue I can get the exact offset that I want. Unfortunatly, the load rating info wasn't published until AFTER I bought them, and I'm afraid it is too low (1200 lbs) for an E9x M3. So I'm trying to cancel my order, but have no idea what to replace them with. I definately want 18" staggered though, and I don't want to spend $4K! Worst case scenario is, I'll buy another set of OEM 18's and slap the tires that I already bought for the Forgestars on them (255/35 and 275/35 R888s).

The Advan RS costs about $2,400 with shipping included. Not as cheap as Forgestar or TRMotorsport but likely better in quality. The Volk TE37 though TCKline is about $3,100 without shipping.

I like the price of the Advans, but I don't like the sizes and offsets they come in (they limit your tire options). Also, I don't want to run spacers like with the TE27s, which are still too expensive.

You can't beat volk/advan wheels for price vs quality. Other options of course would be the HRE competition series but a bit more $$.

Tha Advan RS can be ordered 18x9.5 and 18x10 with offset of 25 and 22 respectively. Which is not bad. (at least better than the Volk TE37)
My only issue is the 18x10 being a little narrow for the 285/30 R1 (altough I run the same 18x10 at the rear now with 285/30 R1 on the TRMotorsport wheel) with the Volk available at 18x10.5 one can potentially go up to 295 which maybe needed. The 18x10 advan rs is a special order from Japan so it takes about 3month to get it (similar to the Volk) |

I've been very happy with my Volks 18x9.5" et 28. I am running a 12mm spacer on the rear but only for cosmetic purposes. A square setup really helps dial out the understeer on this car, so I passed on the 10.5" rear wheel. These wheels are really built for brakes as you can go with a 380mm rotor if so desired. I think you get what you pay for; I'm not sure there is any really great superstrong wheel for this heavy car at a bargain price.

Who sells the Advan RS in 18"?
I also noticed TC Kline is selling the BBS RGR in 18/10". I'm not sure the offsets will work. Anyone know what the correct offsets are for the E90 to run no spacers and not rub? |

Since I learned (after some spins) more or less trailbraking properly, I really don't have understeer on the M3 (OK maybe at certain corners a little bit) my issue is more about the exits. I have a feeling the car could accelerate out faster if you have more rear grip. I can break the tail loose easily at most of the exits. So i will (and did) go with the stagerred setup.

M3s come with a tendency to understeer, but it is real easy to iduce oversteer by trail braking an apply the throttle early upon exiting a corner. In any case, I think 295 widths or higher for the rear simply isn't necessary, especially if your car isn't modded to make more power. Extra wide ties hinder sraight-line acceleration and fuel mileage. The key is to find the best compromise. Short, tight tracks; use all the rubber you can fit. For wide-open tracks, a little closer to stock is better, at least if you're going for lap times.

You are right! I would not run anything larger than OEM on the street. On the tight MAM track with some added HP I still find the 285 at the rear usually enough. There is one corner though where I would like to have something larger.

Does anybody sell 18x9 and 18x10 Advans? I really don't want to run more than 255/35 and 275/35. Those staggered sizes seem to provide the most options for r-comp tires, and maintain the same front/rear overall diameter ratio as OEM.

Ok, ok, these were 19"s but they might fit on a E9x so I was only half wrong.

"might" doesn't make it right Besides, the title of this thread is "18" Track wheel Options", as in the age you have to be at least to vote int he US (and to drink alcohol in other parts of the world - )

vividracing definately sells 18x8.5 18x9, 18x9.5, 18x10 Advan RS wheels (the 18x10 is special order) They do not have - yokohama does not make - 18x10.5 wheels I was told.
the 18x10 takes the 285/30 tire but I would not risk anything larger. |

I went to vivdracing's web site to look up Advan wheels, and it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. For some reason, even after you input your car and model, it returns all different wheels sizes and bolt patterns anyway, and they do not list the Advan RS in 18x9 and 18x10 with the right bolt pattern. Does anybody else sell them? If so, what offsets do the RS and RZ wheels come in for 18x9 and 18x10? Thanks!
