Could be, I don't see technically why not as this is a pure software issue and there is plenty of empty space in the HDD... unless of course there is also a new and better performing microprocesor for this feature than the one in the MY2009 CIC or if BMW wants to reserve this upgrade to MY2010-on only, which I both doubt.

I thought it might be something like BMW having to pay a licensee fee to Nuance for each vehicle installed on.

In general the voice control in the 3 series is terrible, I hope this makes it usable for the 2010 owners.
