I want a GT3 and have for years. Once I get that I'll probably want something better (a cup car ). Desire is indeed a cruel bitch...

glad to have you back Nawaaz. guess i missed the drama with posts getting deleted, etc (been out of town since Tuesday). we really would have lost a good leader and good friend had you decided to leave. also was getting kind of anxious about possibly leading the meet as i've only a met a few of you once so far!
+1000 on the GT3 esp the new 997.2 GT3 and RS. i always say if i was ten years ahead in life right now i'd have one as my daily driver. brilliant car. if only the boxster spyder wasn't so impractical well i'm in hotlanta until next tues. hopefully i'll see some interesting cars while i'm here... p.s. MIKE JONES!

NA brother, high revving NA. Call me crazy, but I'd take a well spec'd 7.2 GT3 over a GT2.

*Pipe Dream Alert*
If I had the funds, I'd buy a used 7.1 GT3RS (some great deals out there) and do this awesome conversion from sharkwerks. 500hp and a stripped down interior would be very close, if not beyond cup car performance. Check out this article about how this car stacks up against a 7.2 GT3: http://www.excellence-mag.com/art1/art1p1.php

why GT3? so many reasons...NA is one of them. also think about the initial investment. many consider the E9x M3 to be a lot of bang for the buck. IMHO the GT3 esp current 997.1 GT3 prices represents the absolute maximum bang-for-the-buck for a driving enthusiast. you can drive it to work every day and most people think it's just another 911, moreso than who would think the M is just another 3 series...spend a weekend on the track, drive home with nothing more than simple suspension/brake pads/fluids/tire concessions for the ability to do everything. anyway i could ramble for hours...still love my M3 though but guess i'm showing where my heart really is at the end of the day. funny enough have only owned BMW's personally thus far (as far as fun cars go). had to really analyze things logically and with maturity to not jump into a cayman S this last year

haha i hear you on that though...honestly i think every car nut should own a crazy blown motor at some point with some mad BOV action...haha that whooosh is really fun...i've toyed with the idea of getting an evo/sti, modding for some crazy boost, driving the shit out of it daily, and giving it back at lease end acting like nothing happened...besides if i ever want to go that route, i think there's a certain age that i want to be below and risk being seen during that kind of hoonage, haha

ZKERMIT was my background for a while a year or two back...actually if i had the funds i'd buy two 7.1GT3RS...one to preserve for my children to appreciate, and one to convert haha...same idea with CGT, one to preserve as my responsibility to car lovers of the future, and one to drive the piss out of... sadly i haven't received my excellence yet and won't be in town much over the next couple weeks...might have to find a bookstore in atl and read that article, that car is an extremely impressive and well-engineered piece of kit... haha ok ok back to M's i swear...

GT3s are perfectly setup and have that absolutely bulletproof GT1 derived engine. I'd like to pick up a 7.1 GT3 (since some are sitting around $80k) in the next few years and hopefully be able to keep my M3 as the DD. The GT3 could serve as the REAL fun car. I could easily DD one of those, but I've gotten used to Satellite Radio and other features on the M. I assure you that a GT3 of some type is a huge part of my five year plan. I'm probably going to rent a trailer for the Road Atlanta/possibly California trip (Laguna Seca, Willow Springs, LA to SF via PCH, etc...). Despite the fact that my uncle says he can find me a deal on a featherlite trailer, I simply have no place to put it and don't want to pay monthly rent to keep it somewhere. I've talked to a couple trackday companies for Road Atlanta and hopefully I can jump on it once I get my schedule better figured out.
