This is a knob found on ZHP sport package 3 series from the E46. It's desired for its shorter height and weighted throw but it's not lighted Very easy mod and good alternative to a short shifter |

I know of two people that make these.... 1) deadlysyns (I used him) 2) starscream Both of these can manufacture you a lighted ZHP knob. PM either one and they will get it done for you. I love the feel by the way. 100x better than stock.

Straz, what's up? I don't understand this mod and probably never will.
I think I will save my money for HRE's. -Carl

After having this in my E46 M3, there is just no comparison. For a little over $100 (for the lighted one of course) the feel is just so much better. Shorter, heavier, and just more of a "sure" throw into each gear. It will match perfectly with Rogue's SSK that is coming shortly! I'd say go for it and save for an extra day for your HRE's haha. Hope you and your M are well man.

I have the same thing in my car (will post a pic tomorrow).
I got it from LeatherZ for $175 and sent him my stock knob. It looks like the one in the OP was done better than mine was. I had to send it back twice and had a number of customer service concerns. Looks great!

I'd just spend more time fitting the boot better, at the base of the ring. And build up the shaft to match the diameter of the ring, so it looks factory. I also did the mod myself because LeatherZ didn't use the stock lighting, and I didn't like the look. But if you're not anal like myself, none of that stuff would bother you . Here's a pic of mine:
