Mid-range coffee makers?

We have had this Bonavita for 6 good years https://www.amazon.com/Bonavita-One-...qid=1587021882

It is after a long service life on its way out, and the heater is sputtering and throwing a lot of steam even after cleaning.

I am wondering if anyone has any other first-hand recommendations such as the Technivorm Moccamaster, Breville Precision, OXO or others in the ~$150 - $350 price range.

I am leaning towards another Bonavita. We don't need too many fancy features, it is is less than half the price of the others that seem to be most popular and seems to make just as good a pot of coffee.

We currently have the Moccamaster and it is the best coffer maker we ever have. Highly recommended.

We buy ~lb of beans every week and do a med-coarse drip grind, but can be adjusted to suit a different machine

I've had the Technivorm, Oxo, and Bonavita. Technivorm, hands down. Get the one with the insulated carafe, not the glass.

I don't know much about drip coffee makers. Can't say I've noticed much difference between machines. We have had a fairly basic cuisinart for probably 12+ years now still going strong. Unless I plan to drink a lot of coffee, I typically just use the espresso maker, it has a coffee setting which is ok for a cup. If I plan to have several cups or I'm just in the mood for drip coffee then I take out the cuisinart.

Had a Technivorm for a few years ago, have a Bonavita Precision now. Both make excellent drip cups. I like extra brew options like cold brew and over ice that the Bonavita provides, but you can still dial in the drip speed, bloom time, and water temperature like the Technivorm.

We have the breville precision. Love that you can make from 1 cup to 8. We make 40oz a day usually. It's been flawless, the thermal carraffe is good for 3+ hours and it makes a consistent cup every time.

Cuisinart DCC-2650P1 makes very good coffee but has a design flaw that lets water drip down onto warming plate sometimes when you pull the coffee pot out.

Funny, I just bought a Corning Ware E-1210-8 Electromatic percolator from the 70's. Makes great coffee but takes ten minutes to make 6 cups after setting it up, then needs to be cleaned. The drip coffee maker pretty much was the percolators demise.

I have this Kitchenaid. Its excellent. Customer support is even better. I broke the glass carafe by accidently hitting it against my marble counter top. Kitchenaid sent me an entire new machine, not just a cafafe, and breaking the carafe was my fault.

and returned it.. The snap-on base kept popping off and wife did not care for flimsy plastic pieces. Ordered a new replacement Bonavita Connoisseur instead for 1/2 the price of the TVMM

I am running Rocket Appartamento/ Eureka Mignon Specialita combo. 2 years in, basic cleaning here and there. Pulls fantastic shots every morning at 740am.
Not sure if you are into pulling espressos, you could do a gaggia classic.

Have had a Breville Grind Control for years. great for making 1-12 cups of coffee. The insulated carafe will keep that coffee hot for hours without burning it.

Had 1 issue with it over the last 5 years, and Breville replaced the whole unit for me.

https://www.breville.com/us/en/produ...ee/bdc650.html

Also Have a Gaggia Babila for espresso and milk drinks. Works fairly well and is super easy to use.

Sounds like we all have descent machines. Now, how many of us roast coffee at home, to get the most out of the machine?

I used to do this in an old school popcorn air popper. Started to get surprisingly good results after a while but it just wasn't cost effective since i like to switch up my beans pretty often
