Howdy,

Marks car got the software update yesterday everything seems fine.
I just had a call as well mine is booked in for next Tuesday not that i have experienced any problems but it looks like they may roll out this update to everyone. I mentioned no problems so far but they want to do the update seeing is though it is available.

Thought I saw a AW M3 in the drive way at Stillwell's last week. I was parked across the road collecting my mate. Was it your car?

How's your knee?

Hey neraij,

Where are the photos of your beast? As for running in, I think I'll follow BMW's advice and stick with what they know.

Hey bdh,

We were told around 6 hours to do the update, when is yours being done?

Running in these cars is a funny thing. You cruise around thinking you can unleash this beast if you wanted to at anytime & can't wait to do it. Then you get the service done & realise there's no where safe to unleash it so you're back to cruising around anyway

I need a beer.

Oh yes I have

My first service was done a couple of weeks ago. I have 3,500kms on it now. I never drive it weekends.

Last time I hit that 'M' button was yesterday just before entering the freeway. It's crazy!

Just make sure in your 'M' settings that you have traction control ON.

I've only done 1000kms so far but I was thinking I might try and clock up a thousand before next tuesday and have the whole lot done in one hit.

They weren’t really sure how long but they thought 3 hours. I haven’t booked it in yet as I’m a bit flat at work with this all this f&^%ing market dramas etc. Apprentley the documentation they have with the upgrade doesnt list the faults but just refers to addressing DCT operating issues.

OT I know but incidentally I have a paint malfunction on the bonnet where an area around 50 cm x 50 cm has blisters under or in the clear coat. They are probably going to sand the clear coat off and re-coat it – a bit annoying to say the least and I’m not sure if I’m better off just putting up with it.

Will advise when I have more info re the software upgrade. I'll be interested to see what if anything changes.

Got mine back.. shifts feel a bit quicker particulary in S5, the clutch also does dot seem to have a much slip when exiting the ramp out of my car park.. and it seems to have eliminated the clunk in gears when slowing down as it shifts down in auto mode. but the only problem is they did not unlock the S6 lock so i cant try out LC.

Going OS for a while so have to take it back to them when i get back.

Hey Guys,
Sorry for the late response been up in Qld all of last week and a short trip to Indy on gold coast.
Well I must say i'm amazed at this car as MC said in S5 this car transforms. The gearshift is lightning quick and it sort of punches you into the next gear which i like alot especially when you get that little chirp from 1st to 2nd to 3rd then you have to back off.
I love the throttle blips when changing down through the gears, sort of gives you that V8 supercar thrill.
MC444 you mention S6 and no LC, I have read elsewhere it will unlock itself after a certain amount of kms.
Anyone else try LC yet in OZ?

Try it in S5/6 with TC turned off

I won't be trying out LC. Dealer told me it damages the car & that's why its only available to use 4-5 times before the car won't allow you to do it ever again. Only repeating what my sales guy told me.

Garage List
You can use LC 5 or 6 times then it won't let you use it for around another 50klm, then you can use it again.

Re the LC they unlock the program at the first service i was told by the dealer. I have had the first service done but never got the chance to try it out before going in for the upgrade.

When the upgrade was done they must reset it back to original or they forgot to unlock it... i am only assuming as i have been overseas for the last week i have not had a chance to take it back and have it sorted..

MC,
Lets us know how you go at the dealers as i said in my previous post in the US ppl were getting there service done and then around 1250 miles or so S6 would unlock.

I'm curious as I am unable to get S6 at the moment. Mind you S5 scares the crap out of me.
