No worries. The M3post embedded search engine has flaws, and is pretty useless sometimes. I think it was Mantis? that used google to search through M3post.com.

9500i, ci, or ix?

And how do these work together? Do you notice alot of overlap between the 2 systems or do they vary slightly. I'd be pretty interested in hearing your feedback and running both at the same time.

9500i
the V-1 warns me sooner then the escort other then that they both go off, i use the escort because for some reason the escort picks up some radars that the V-1 doesnt

Im facing the same dilema V1 or 9500ix?

V1: I like the whole arrow concept and I'm sure V1 has better customer service and support especially with the loyal following and all. From the reviews I have read it appears to be definately the most sensitive but dont think difference is enough to make it part of the equation.

Escort: The "gimmicky" GPS of course. I drive 15 miles one way through suburban jungle everyday. I think if it can truly weed out false alerts and still pick out a Leo radar through all the noise that would be totally worth it. The photo speed radar database could be usefull in unknown area's but not a big selling point at the moment as I dont think we have any in the Dallas area.
The only problem is I havent seen anybody come out and praise it's effectiveness so I'm not so sure how well it works.

I used to laugh at all the loyal Ipod users out there too and thought they were crazy for paying a premium price for something that another company's device could do for half the price. Now we have 3 in the house/car.

Not quite the same thing but all the praises for the V1 is making the decision that much more difficult. I know my personality though and have a feeling I would be ignoring the V1 or even muting it all together before long....just ask my wife I'm pretty good at it.

I used to have the Passport 8500 in my car, and liked it. Then, I finally got the V1; the Passport 8500 is now in my wife's 5,300lb. SUV. So, which one do you think I like better?

I did a search on radar detectors before deciding to post and couldn't find any thread that talked about models, etc.

Any suggestions y'all have?

You guys will find that it's quite difficult to get unbiased opinions on the subject of radar detector , and that the V1 fans are quite fanatical about their detectors ( Especially Radarking/Mike Valentine) most of them will not take any consideration of your driving habits they will just say my V1 is the best.

Here is the thread I stated on the subject asking the same question a few months back I’m sure you will find quite informative
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=133875

I ended up buying the BEL STI Driver, as it was the best unit for My personal requirement and I needed an undetectable detector ,

Good luck

I am not Mike Valentine and I do not work for any radar detector company. I will prove it to you, if you live in the one state (Virginia) in the U.S. or a country where radar detectors are illegal, buy the BEL STi because it is completely invisible to RDDs or radar detector detectors. If you live in an area where radar detectors are completely legal and you want the best radar/laser detector you can buy for under $500, the Valentine One is the only choice.
