Best Radar Detector for a M3?
I've got an older Escort 9500ix and I think it's time I update. I am a very aggressive driver and do not feel comfortable without having some protection. What does everyone recommend beside not driving fast?

I have a 9500ix (blue LED), and I've also been looking. Worried that it is getting dated and its only a matter of time.

Check out the Max 360 on amazon - $530 or so vs. the full price on escort radar site.
I got the Max 2 on clearance sale for $350 about a year ago. It's been good, but the Max 360's arrows are tempting me. |

I just looked it up on Amazon and read some of the reviews, the first ones didn't have favorable things to say about it.

Yea they're actually quite useful here in CA. All I've seen so far is police Ka band. Easy to spot. No laser, not even in LA, SF, or the drive between them.
When I was in MA and drove to NY a lot, it was a laser fest. Major highways and even small city highways. |

Have you used this setup before on your M3? Mirrortap looks like a winner.

How is it that newer detectors are perceived to be outdated every couple years but somehow the Valentine 1 still holds its ground?

I’ve had the max 360 for almost 2 years and it has saved me much more money than I payed for it. It also gives you the locations of red light cameras, speeding cameras, police traps and can identify a threat from the front and rear.

I have a built in Escort 9500ci with laser jammers. Paid for itself multiple times over. Waze is always a helpful back up too. Would say it shows me a cop ahead about 75% of the time.

I have two V1's distributed in the 3 cars. Its range is simply excellent. The only downside to the V1 I'm aware of is lots of false alerts. On one of them I've disabled all alerts other than Ka band which is a guaranteed police car and it's nice and quiet |

one thing that bothers me most is the false alarms coming from some of the cars (honda / acura seems to be common). new models like 360 supposedly do better in filtering out those. i was thinking about upgrading awhile ago but at the end didn't want to shell out... |
