What car to get?

So I'm currently looking at E92 M3s and C63 AMGs from the similar years but everything I hear about is their are great and great daily. Thing is, I don't need a daily driver car. So if I could get a car in same price range with that attracts a bit more attention I wouldn't mind at all.
So would there be another car in the same price range that would suit me better? They are around 30k to 50k so that's my price range.

I'd go C63.

Might be a bit biased here but I'd get the M3. Personally think it looks better, drives great for both daily and on back roads. In terms of maintenance/reliability I'm not too sure since I've only had my M3 for 8 months and never owned or looked into Benz.

Not just limited to C63 or M3, like I said I don't require the DD advantage of these beautiful machines, maybe I can get something that grabs more attention to the cost of DD? I will maybe just go to work with it once a week.

I was thinking Lotus but that's pretty much all I can think of more that won't cost me an extreme arm, maybe corvette C7 but they are still to expensive.

It depends upon what you like, how you like to drive, the uses to which you will put your car, what transmission you prefer.... There is no wrong answer here, only wrong answers for you. If your preference is the C63, that's the right choice. If it's the M3, that's the right choice. Nobody on this board is going to be driving your car, and what you prefer is the only thing that matters. Drive them all (don't forget the Audi S4, S5, and S6) the way you would drive your own car, and on similar roads, and see what you think.

drove both, along with other cars, before buying my m3. between the 2...if you plan on leaving it completely stock for the most part, go c63. in stock form, it'll feel more special when you drive it. however, if you plan on modifying either, m3 without question. with an exhaust alone you get the same type of "special" feeling in the c63 as long as you do it right.

other cars i considered but the numbers just didn't line up or i just wasn't in love with:

rs5
s6
911

s6 was unbelievable to be honest but if you aren't looking for something that needs to be a daily then i probably wouldn't consider it. rs5 was enjoyable but similarly passed on it as i had a daily already. 997 911 i was just too tall for, otherwise it was fantastic.

not exactly sure what the budget is but those were a few that are comparable depending that i personally drove

The M3 is quite stealthy, the sedan to a degree you can't even fathom, haha. Most people didn't even know there was an M3 sedan, and plenty of others think it's just another 328. At least the C63 has a crazy exhaust note -- without that, it would look like just another C300 to the average person.

Frankly, if you want something that draws attention, I don't think the M3 or C63 are the way to go unless you're going to modify them. The exception might be the Lime Rock Park Edition, but that's not going to fall within your budget.

I don't know what a used C6 Z06 costs, but there's a lot more "wow" there. The interiors are absolute shit, but I guess it comes down to your priorities.

yeah I was gonna say basically the same thing. If you want to be noticed the M3 and C63 look so close to their C class and 3 series cousins that most people wouldn't care. It's the reason the sedans were on my short list before buying the M3. I like the idea of a regular looking sedan with a powerful V8 under the hood.

If you want to be noticed, I'd go Vette or 911.

A limerock actually fits in my budget, I found one at 50k. Anyways, the only way I could turn heads with the M3/C63 is you know, revving in town.

I only like the C7 so any other vettes (except very old ones) are not in the selection.

The Lotus elise I like very much. I'm just worried about the interior, really looks empty haha, worst than C6 I even think.

As I said, it's not between C63 or M3 and I don't want something that's really good at DDing and sport, like the S4 S5 and S6.

find a 996 turbo that's been well-maintained. should easily be under 50k and in my opinion it's by far the best looking 911 other than anything air-cooled. faster than anything you've mentioned so far as well.

or i guess the best answer to this question would be to find an e30 m3. unless a newer car is a big deal in the decision

Oh, well in that case, Bugatti Veyron.

M3/C63 are not what you are looking for at all. I got an M3 because 95% of people think it's just my 328xi with a paint job.

What is the budget here? I'd love an Elise personally.

Alfa 4C?

You can probably find some Ferrari's if you really don't care about drive-ability. You'll be looking at older models, and/or higher mileage, but people will notice you.

Budget, as said in OT, is between 30k to 50k. That's CAD though. But it should give you a rough idea.
Yeah the elise is growing it's just, it feels empty. Like the evora would be nice because it has an ok interior but I feel an evora is to sleek.

Alfa 4C still to expensive, around 75k used with 10k KM.

Really not a ferari guy.

Cayman S would seem to fit what you're looking for.

Where I live, 911s are a dime a dozen. I don't even look twice at them. For the average person, they don't know the difference between the Cayman, Boxster, and 911, let alone different generations of them or the hotter versions like the Turbo S.

911 suffers from the same "stealth" problem (?) that the M3 does unless you get a really loud color.

Earlier Viper? I'm sure there are some Used V8 Vantages around as well, but might stretch to ~60k

I'm trying to think what I would say "wow" if I saw, but isn't expensive.

NSX?
