I am indeed. Sept '07 production. A battery tender can do wonders!

expert advice needed...

the last few weeks the engine feels like it's slightly misfiring, mainly at lower revs, but at most revs now. builds revs fine but feels like a subtle misfire as it does. booked it into for a service. then tonight i got a check engine light with the following codes show up. i cleared the codes and the check engine light went away but misfire remains. wtf is going on, do i have a dodgy injector or something?

Have you got to the bottom of this yet?

The only time I had a misfire code was when one of my throttle body actuators completely failed. This was in addition to the usual Christmas tree of other error codes. Yours doesn't sound like actuator problem based on the codes you have.

There is a thread on the forum which sounds similar to your issue.

Search under

Engine, Transmission, Exhaust, Drivetrain, ECU Software Modifications

Then M3 Rough Idle/misfire Cylinder 1 P0301 (title)

wow just read that thread, all that drama and it seems like it was only o2 sensors in the end? though no confirmation from OP.
My symptoms are definitely very similar to his initial symptoms. slight misfire at idle, then misfiring under load between 2-4k rpm. above 4k rpm and full throttle the misfire isn't apparent.
it's in at Galvsport in a couple of weeks so i'll let Josh diagnose it.

For anyone following this thread the problem ended up being one faulty coilpack. Josh replaced it and she purrs again.

Anyway, my gear knob has seen better days and needs to be replaced. Where should I get one from and how easy is it?

Want to keep it OEM if possible.

find the part number you want, then google search. Schmiedmann is usually pretty good price wise.

Have a look at the ZHP shift knob, part number 25117896886. Turnermotorspor and escruning also supply.

The knob is shorter, looks and feels much better. There is a diy video online re the install. It is very quick to do.

This is one of the next things on my To Do list. I've read people say this is one of the most underrated mods going (for 6MT) and one of the favourites they made.

I need to check out that DIY vid and see if my 'basic' skills are up to it

regrettably this is now on the market
with a pregnant wife and the need to buy a house i can't make the sums work to keep this utterly amazing car. it breaks my heart putting it up for sale.

https://www.carsales.com.au/private/...SSE-AD-4724274

100% i will be buying another one in a few years once house is purchased! :'(

in celebration I ordered a replacement ZHP shift knob, to replace the wearing factory shift knob and she's going into galvsport this friday for a service.
