I wasn't pressured into it. In fact, I turned it down at first and then called back to sign up a few weeks later. Per the brochure, it is available to members of certain credit unions, this wasn't just a gimmick.

I'm not even sure what part sounded like salesman-talk to you? I paid $2k for 4yrs of platinum coverage, which has already paid out nearly $10k. I know it wasn't a scam, I know it was a good deal, and I know I wasn't swindled into it.

I meant no disrespect or implied you got a bad deal to be a scam nor pressured.

I simply meant the items you were agreeing to buying after buying them the salesman could have said those things.

Gotcha, no worries. Still not sure what part strikes you as a pitch based on what was said to me any more so than a Carmax warranty though.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Nope, I purchased private party and financed through a credit union, hence the warranty offered by the credit union.
