Passenger door cubby rattles?

Noob here, just got an E92 last month and loving it but there is a really annoying rattle coming from the passenger door.

It stops if I pull the door cubby tray out, but if I close it the rattle returns.

Anyone know how to fix that?

It's a long shot, but check the trim piece. I couldn't tell where mine was coming from and it turned out the trim was loose.

Had the same thing start happening on my 2011.75 about 2 years back. Ended up having the dealer take care of it under warranty, they told me there was some kind of repair kit for it. Not sure what it consisted of, but the rattle is extremely faint now if it's even still there at all.

Everything rattles in our cars unfortunately. The best thing is when the rattle happens intermittently and you have no idea why.

Is it rattle or the famous "rubber squeek"? If the latter (which also is really annoying) - smear a tad grease on the upper line of the door sealing and it goes away. Sounds like something you don't want to do but its perfectly allright as only a tad is needed. I do it once a year or so and its dead silence since.

Cheers

Ps. Actually using 'lipp grease" so no smell no nothing.

I can give you one quick fix. Place something slim and of reasonable mass inside the door pocket. Doing this changes the harmonic resonance of the pocket. Examples could include: small umbrella, a book, a laptop battery (in order of increasing mass). Experiment with different items (and weights). In this case the small but heavy items act as a harmonic damper to overcome the rattling. Yeah, I know it’s a tiny bit of extra weight but it beats taking the door card off in my book, but that’s just me..

Could also be a loose clip inside the door card.

I put felt tape over the top inside edge of the moving pocket. This worked until the felt tape came off. Gotta reapply it...

This is exactly what I was planning in doing actually. 2 sets of felt pads touching each other
