OEM Exhaust Mod Done

New to the forums -- just picked up an 08 E92 with 26k miles. After doing some research, I went with the OEM exhaust mod. I'm very happy with it. Let me know what you think.

I realy recognize that sound ,it's the Oem. exhaust mod.with the 2 perforated method .
Needless to say it sounds just perfect and so here is mine again =>

You only did two pipes? Not all 4?

When you open the link above of my thread you can see that I replaced only the 2 big perforated pipes,so you did the 2 large and the 2 small ?

When you going for all 4 it's about 10% louder than only the 2 big .
With all 4 replaced you can have slightly drone and with DCT when down shifting sometimes slightly backfire .
But when you do it with 2 or 4 replaced pipes put always the isolating fibers back in exhaust otherwise it sounds to hollow and like a broken exhaust .
Note; our exhaust is also double walled .

When you open up the muffler it all makes sense. At first, I will admit, I was a little confused. You just replace the perforated tubes with solid ones and put everything back together. I didn't have the tools on hand, so I showed the pics and DIY to a local muffler shop. They were able to knock it out pretty quick.

Remove muffler section, replace all 4 pipe sections, re-pack the canister, weld closed, paint the canister flat black, reinstall...ENJOY the sound!!!

That makes me feel good in a way to contribute of these amazing mod. for our cars and that's why I want to share what this mod. can do with the exhaust sound of our cars .
And that's why you posted your videos too , it's sounds just amazing !

BTW...Just wait...After 2-3 K miles it sounds even better .

Indeed all what you mentioned above..... but => + 1 entire day of work at least if you have done it by your self !

I am getting my oem exhaust mod tomorrow morning. I am very excited. I am going with ACM mod however.

Right on. The straight pipe method is too raspy.

I just had this done yesterday, I had all 4 pipes replaced, and deleted my resonators , All I can say is sex....
